hello all
just checking in before sleep. we had a lovely day, very different than most of yours i think! OH woke me with a cuppa around 8am, we opened our stockings which we do for one another, then breakfast and church, then family presents (i got nice dressing gown as requested from OH, books and dvds from my amazon list from his parents, a few smellies as ever and some other bits and bobs.) we kept it low key this year with 3 weddings in 6 months across the two families! OH's bro and fiance coming tomorrow when we go to the aunties and do it all again (seriously, another big dinner, loads more games...)think i might need to get out and stretch my legs in the morning first, though.

Morning All
Had a good day yesterday although DS has come down with this cold that's already knocked me and DD out but thankfully we had ours before Christmas (mine's just lingering now so not too bad). Keeping him dosed up so hope fully he'll feel a lot better by tomorrow!
LR floor can still not be seen for toys as we were out all day from 12 yesterday - I have no idea where everything's going to go. I think a big trip to the charity shops is on the cards here as well Michelle. All the rubbish is sorted into paper, cardboard and plastic ready for recycling so that will probably go tomorrow.
Other than that, I have a free day today so might try to sort out the old toys in the kids' rooms ready to fit the new stuff in! Other than that - I could do with an extension!
Hope everyone's having a chilling day today and everyone is well.

Happy Christmas :santa2:
Had a nice day yesterday, kids got up at 7.10am although littley came to tell me Santa had been at 3am so she was quickly herded back to bed *yawn* I was knackered, trying to wrestle the pool table out of the shed at 11.30pm did me inWe all got an obscene amount of presents, especially off MIL who went totally OTT as usual bless her.
OH went home for a bit when we went out in the morning and showed his face again at 10pm last night so I did the whole day by myself  I was exhausted lol so he was in the dog house, and he's been told to get littleys cabin bed up today or else
Got buffet to do today, got some left over chicken so will add that to it, more tidying, sweeping and general mooshing about. Littleys just got up and asked me to play pool already  knew it was a bad idea lol....best get going
Glad everyone had a nice Christmas, hope all sickies get well soon what a time to be ill0 -
Morning all
Glad to hear that everyone's day went well (hugs to those with poorlies still). A & W had a great time and A has only taken 200 pics with her new camera :rotfl: Still can't see the floor for pressies. Everyone seemed to like their presents, DH and my mum used to get each other a puzzle/daft game so this year I got Zapit (think it is called) for mum which did give me rather damp eyes. All the flowers that various family members had taken to DH looked lovely as well.
Better go and have a shower erady to go up to Nannies for round 2!
Hope you all have a good day. xxOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
Morning all
I had a lovely lie-in this morning - 8.10 - that's really late for me. Feel much more with it.
Tidied round everywhere, put away what I can. Damp wiped living room. S&Sd kitchen. I've got the vacuum out and will go through downstairs when DS wakes up. Peeled a mound of potatoes for cold meats and mash later (either lunch time or later depending on what people are doing). Second load of washing spinning.
Sounds like people had a good time yesterday0 -
Good morning all, glad you all had a good christmas. I may do battle in the sales later, will see how i feel. My house was lovely and tidy yesterday, now looks like a chocolate/present bomb has gone off;) LO got sooooo much stuff from all the family. Need to find homes for it all.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

I've developed OCD about presents, as soon as she gets them out I'm itching to put them away again, I'm hunting round for bits of stray paper and plastic packaging too  just opened all my gift sets and put them in a basket, there's hundreds (well nearly) at least this time I didn't think what I'd be able to give away as presents
my aim is to use every single one of them - oh yes indeedy *nods head*
Happy Birthday pigpen - it is today isn't it, I'm totally lost on my days now, is it Wednesday0 -
Morning all and Happy Boxing Day.
Done nothing so far apart from drink tea and take washing out of the machine. Almost the entire house is a tip, stuff everywhere, will have a tidy this evening.
Plan is to go out late morning so DS2 can go on his dirtboard again now it is sunny and DS3 can use his skateboard outside. Off to Mum's after lunch for the afternoon and tea. Kids sleeping over and OH and I hoping to go to Brent Cross sales (I need a new bedsheet as mine split on Christmas night along a huge threadbear line! Need a new duvet cover aswell).
Also hope to do IKEA to return some bits I brought last month and hopefully get a desk for DS1.
January will be mass declutter month in the Dusty Household and
February will be create the kitchen garden out the front.
I love planning ahead. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Dusty, I was thinking it was today too, if it's your birthday today Pigpen then a very happy birthday from me, if not hope you have a good day today anyway and have managed to get some sleep.
Anyone else sick of undoing twisty ties etc off the back of toys? I am sure they don't need to use sooooo much packaging and ties on each toy. Well, things aren't looking too bad here, few things lying around but most has been took upstairs then they're bringing things down to play with. DS2 has got magnetix all over his bedroom floor, he thinks I am mean as I won't let him open the lego he got until it's picked up.
DP in bed, when he gets up he'll be going out and will roll in sometime tomorrow morning in goodness knows what state, so apart from dropping him off I'll be staying in and trying out my new doughnut maker I think. My Dad is coming over this afternoon aswell. Not braving the sales, might check the bank balance and have a look online at the sales on there, DS1s birthday in 9 days so need to think of what to get him for that. One day I might be more organised...........
