I forced myself to go out this afternoon - only to newsagent to pay the paper bill (and I got a roll of Christmas paper reduced to 50p) - but I felt better for the fresh air. I could actually breathe through my nose for .....ooooh..... about 10 minutes :D DH says the house stinks of Olbas oil but I still can't smell it.

I made DH go up in the loft and get down the boxes for the tree and decorations. I'm hoping to get up tomorrow and it will all be packed away, he usually does that bit for me.

    Hello all

Just starting to fly this evening.....and have discovered the following:

    * mold on bedroom walls :(
    * all furniture smells funny

Everything was in storage at my mum's for months and it is all a bit ewwww. The furniture is wooden so I've emptied everything from drawers and washed inside and outside and the bedroom walls with stardrops. Have dehumidifier on in bedroom, not sure what else to do.... Might have a browse around OS to see if there are any suggestions.

I have friends visiting tomorrow for NYE so had better get back to sorting the flat out....I currently can't see the carpet in the lounge!!!

Ok, reading some old threads perhaps I should have cleaned the furniture with bicarbonate of soda disolved in water....does that sound like a good idea to anyone?

Monday's list is ready for those who wish to accept the challenge.

With the furniture I would try and let it air out first before trying to clean it.

3 ways of shifting mould that I have used that work, mould & mildew remover, bleach and eucalyptus oil.

:rotfl: LJD1 I am pleased you cleared that up

poohbear if people moan at boiled/steamed sprouts again, maybe try stir frying them, yummy with some balasamic vinegar and a little brown sugar, I love sprouts, can you tell?
One day I might be more organised...........

Thanks lil_me, I've used stardrops for the moment and had to refill drawers as nowhere to put stuff! But might try and make some kind of sachet things with bicarbonate of soda or something to take away the musty smell....will read OS threads to get ideas :D
