Hello Everyone
I haven.t checked in for a few days because basically nothing much is happening. The Boy went home on Monday evening and our friends are arriving Friday lunchtime so it's just Himself and I for the next few days. I've planned meals for when they are here but as usual we have too much food. I'll have to try and keep Himself under control and out of the butcher for the rest of the holiday.
I'm a bit concerned about Himself. He is definitely having increasing problems with his knees and hips. He says he is just "stiff" and not in any pain but his facial expression when he tries to stand up tell another story. In addition he is very tired. The Boy suggested that perhaps he should get checked out but that was greeted with an outright refusal. I hope I can enlist the help of his friend next week to persuade him.
It's a beautiful day again. The birds are singing and the wood pigeons are cooing away. We didn't go out yesterday or Monday so even if Himself doesn't feel up to it I shall go for a walk and visit the little and very old village church. Although I'm not religious I do like churches and this is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen.
So, I had better get on.
Have a good day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
Having a quick break as I'm rapidly losing the will to live - knee deep in forms for the Estate Agent and solicitor and just keep pulling out more things they might want. Read the whole of the surveyors report and the searches made when mum bought the bungalow, hunting for receipts for the bathroom, new kitchen, replacement windows (I have a file somewhere with 'things I need to save for when the house is sold). My back is seriously hurting and one leg has gone dead so just having a change of position to work some of the kinks out (in my body not the paperwork).
My brother isn't coming until 2 pm, so I have time but looks like I will be going out in my best paint spattered clothes (I have clean clothes but none are dry - part of the domestic stuff I was supposed to do yesterday but the workmen came early).
Gratitudes at least my brain seems to be firing on all cylinders (and I'm going to throw the stinky bananas out of the window)9 -
Oh, it is the 42 page one ? I hate that stupid form. Both the houses I have bought had 'not known' all the way through them. It is nice to have the receipts and things, but not wholly necessary. 'It is a death sale' seems to placate most people.Nevertheless I did spend a whole day doing the three forms for s/g's bungalow, and the sale went quite smoothly because of it. I feel your pain, even when the stupid solicitor rings you to ask you a stupid question you answered in the stupid box. Just bundle up the whole lot and pass it off to the solicitor for 'just in case'. Conveyancing is mostly a flat rate, so let them plough through it and pass back what they do not need.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Done it in 3.5 hours - it will probably take me that long to explain it all to my brother (it said 'do it together' - cue long sessions of blank looks, shoulder shrugs and "What are you asking me for?", so I've done them, he can read them through and sign. Just hope he wakes up in time (he's not well) and that's another box load of stuff off my hands. Not phoned the PIP people yet - hope the paperwork is in the box I'm going to dive into in a minute (sorted through on Monday, filled a paper sack and added lots of bits to my diary - it's mostly a pile of receipts which need sorting but at least they're all together now). Oh and a text from the doctor's saying can I 'pop' into the surgery and pick up a blood form - that can be another day. At least I found clean clothes in my newly sorted drawers - the leggings aren't the best but any whiskery bits are covered by the tunic top and at least they're not liberally covered in 3 different colours of paint.
This will happen. My life will be sorted (just need more adjustments - some of the things I hoped to get back to are way off the radar).10 -
Wow you’re all putting my ‘fill a form in to transfer my pension (at last)’ to shame but it’s a massive tick off my list. Been trying to get it all sorted since March 2020!!Here’s my update:
Simplify - Used my slow cooker to make a chilli. House smells delicious and I’m feeling smug that tea is already sorted! Pension forms completed to transfer old pension to new so easier to manage.
Essential Spends - NSD 10/15 nearly bought a postage stamp online but will do this tomorrow as I know it will be a spend day tomorrow.Planning & Preparation - Will write my grocery list tonight & meal plan ready for the shopping tomorrow. I will also suggest to DH that we both contribute an extra £25 each a month to the grocery pot starting in October. My share will come from not having to pay scouts anymore and the rest will have to come from personal spends.
Think about spends - Did this today.
Eat to nourish - Looking forward to chilli & rice tonight. Fairly healthy I think.
Mindfulness - I spent some time with DS sorting his football cards and checking his swaps and helping him make a list for a FB group to see if he can swap some instead of buying more.
Be kind - To be kind to myself I used my slow cooker as time is short this evening. Think that’s being kind to my family too!
Exercise - noooo

Hi turtles
Had a rough sleep with my back overnight, put my TENS machine on at about 5.30, slowly drifted off at about 6.30 before the alarm went off at 7. Cycled to my friend's to walk her dog, nearly got in the car as I was so tired but am glad I didn't as exercise really does help my back (most of the time anyway!).
Was on an online training course for using a particular database this morning, really felt the tiredness kick back in but luckily I know the database already so didn't miss anything! Ticked a few things off the to do list this afternoon while WFH.
I decided to pay for a boxing session with my old PT, I need to get back into fitness and lose a bit of weight. Need to invest in myself! Plus it's only £5, so paid for that and a swimming session next week. Sadly the swimming and the boxing are at different gyms otherwise I may have considered re-signing up to the gym as if I go regularly it would probably be cheaper.
Off for a swim later this evening, it's National Fitness Day and all the sessions at my local gym are free so I've saved £5 there.
I fully realised today that I'm going to be much busier in my current job than my old one, which is what I wanted and no surprise, but it's reinforced the need for me to look after myself, so I'm going to make an effort to do a bit of mindfulness every day, even if it's just 5 minutes.8 -
Today I am grateful for my counsellor, for a long walk to the gym, for 85% chocolate, for a useful meeting with one of dc's teachers, for the news that I'm going to be a step-grandma for the 4th time 🎉🎉🎉🎉
