Morning,
Yesterdays update;
Gratitudes Getting up at 5.30am and meditating despite a blinding headache. It has helped it ease a little. Journalling - it really does help to get everything out and clear your head. The pooch - he's on my gratitudes so often but he really is the best morning companion with his comical ways and need for constant cuddles
NSDs/ Pausing before purchasing spent yesterday on chocolate and cake. Not nourishing in anyway.
Yoga/Meditation Meditation done. Gave myself a lovely leg massage too - was lush. Bodybalance later - I've cancelled all my yoga/BB classes this week - I'm determined to make it to this one, I know I'll feel better for it.
Eating and drinking Yesterday was truly shocking but today is a new day. I did manage 2L of water though and I've already had 400ml this morning in a bid to rid the headache.
TGIF!

Yesterday I phoned the PIP people to ask for reconsideration of my award. I'd written several pages of notes, clarifying/ contesting some of the things in the report. Didn't get to make all my points but the main thing was the mobility which I've now quantified - car park is 66 m, I had to stop and sit down 8 times. I can walk for 2 minutes at a time, covering 5 - 9 yards each time, my steps are 12" (heel of forward boot level with toe of the other) going down to 9" (step not clearing the length of the other boot). Did similar calculations for getting down the backs, along the gable end and across 10' of pavement to the nearest point of the car park.
Took 3 books back to the library and then carried on as far as little Arseda. When I came back I sat by the fridge freezer and listed the contents (lots of fish), then came upstairs to do a minimal delivery order of the things I need. Still a few good things in the fridge - last time I bought things that were slightly different to encourage me to eat (healthily) but not enough so that I was overwhelmed by stuff and didn't know where to start.
Emptied the WM but didn't refill (intended going back downstairs but it didn't happen). Did some reading, watched a few episodes of Sister Boniface, cut out the conker shell, a bit of tidying. Today will be another domestic day (bathroom cleaning 5 minutes at a time), re-filing the paperwork the solicitor didn't need (paper trail from me selling my 4 bed house and transferring funds to purchase the bungalow and other bits which linked mum to the property). Also had feedback from the EA on the 2 viewings on Wednesday (one liked it but had one more property to see first).
If I feel up to getting a bus, I'll go and collect the blood test paperwork from the surgery and combine that with other tasks. May include going to the other end of the line to Morries in search of ys bargains and plant based meals, going part way and collecting some of the stuff I've packed into mum's shed, bus hopping a couple of stops to pick up details of a property I've seen/ possibly make an appointment for a viewing, similar bus hop and pick up a few things from Icyland but certainly not all of them. Just trying to get value out of a day ticket.
Felt in need of comfort so put the double layer merino 'quilt' on the bed (sheet for washing mostly off but cba to move the heavy box on one corner). Slept well - I like being slightly cold as I think I'm forcing my body to expend energy (calories) to keep me warm, since I'm not doing enough exercise to burn off a lettuce leaf. However it has turned chilly and I think being too cold has contributed to difficulties getting to sleep and sleeping restfully. Messaged communication with my niece (going to have a gentle discussion with my brother in a couple of weeks - he keeps saying he'll 'lose all his benefits', already in a panic that next year's PIP won't be renewed, we'll also check his NI record before then).
Grateful for snuggly merino, getting bits done, silly series (have started several good ones but they're all a bit heavy), books and polite professionals.8 -

Today
We need repairs and to restock with supplies. In need of tender care and affection (me and the boat) so we'll have a pamper day on the boat and lots of professionals nearby if you need them. It's important to know what you can do yourself (and it's always worth looking at how/ if you can fix things and if you already have anything you can use to do the job) BUT recognise when you need professional advice or support.
5 'R's
Plastic Bottles
It's always best to start with the nearest solution. Plastic bottles can be used to make simple boats (raft or canoe type). They have many uses in the garden - vertical gardens, small pots for potting on, mini cloches, watering accessories (in the pots using spikes to drip feed, for actually carrying water around the garden and if you have small children you can make holes - in the bottles f0xh0les - that vary the way the water comes out for water play/ mini science). You can paint them for decorative holders, bird feeders and fairy houses. If you're a serious collector you can make a green house.
If you cut the bottom off it makes a flower shape (or snowflake). I've seen them strung with led lights and linked together as an alternative to a bead door curtain. In Betwys Coed they have trees on the high street made of bottles on spikes with fairy lights inside.
They can be used to subdivide pencils and crayons or store diy accessories (I'm sure I've seen then used upside down to release one nail or screw at a time but can't remember the mechanism). If you turn them into eco bricks the possibilities are endless. This is a good way of using rubbish you already have (don't buy rubbish just to fill the eco brick). Making an eco brick. Take a 2 l pop bottle (don't use the newer ones which are designed to fold in) and a stick slightly longer than the the bottle. Feed your rubbish into the bottle (some items may need cutting into smaller pieces) and use the stick to push them down. The aim is to make a nicely compacted filling with no air bubbles. You can test it by placing one foot on it and testing to see if it remains sturdy (if not, do more stuffing).
End Quotes
If showing up in a robe and a tiara with a box of wine is wrong then maybe I don't fully understand how Casual Friday works.
It's Friday. Go ahead and tell yourself you will not fall asleep on the couch before 8.30 pm.

Friends arriving today so I've changed the bedding and tidied and cleaned the flat. I know from past experience that it will not stay tidy for long and I'll be forever collecting coffee cups and wine glasses. But I love them anyway and am really looking forward to seeing them. We're eating out in the local pub tonight because if we don't it will be midnight before we make something to eat, Again from past experience I know on the first day we just talk and talk.
It's a beautiful day. Let's hope it stays like this till the end of next week.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -

Well after saying I was going to try mindfulness every day I completely forgot so have written it on my to do list to remind me!
Busy but good week at work, grateful for the chance to decompress a bit and digest it all over the weekend.
Slept on the sofa last night and my back feels 1000% better this morning. No idea why, the bed and the sofa are both memory foam but for some reason the sofa fixes me up! Took my bike to work, I cycle part of the way and then get the train. Was drizzling when I left but let up, and I also got to ride through a lovely park for the first time.
Have been for a back massage this evening, I count this as a sort of essential/maintenance expense. It's not as expensive as physio and it keeps me moving.
No real plans for the weekend but I do have a to do list as long as my arm so that's probably for the best!10 -
I'm 3 radiotherapy sessions in - shoulders are a little stiff as a result, but all is OK and all the team there are great
Simplify - not sure I've got rid of anything other than usual daily stuff the past few days, other than 2 broken coat hangersWill try and find at least something over the weekend.
