Have you bought a car, as in paid £4k in full and drove the car away?

OR, have you bought a car, as in visited the dealer, paid a £100 deposit and due to pay the balance and collect in a few days?

OR, have you bought a car, as in online / remote phone purchase and due to pay balance and collect in a few days?

Exactly what "bought a car" means will depend on the opportunities to cancel that you have.
I have paid the 4k in full.
It was bought from a Dealer, so you have the following options:

    1. Ask the supplying Dealer if they will allow you to reverse the purchase.  There is no reason they have to but they might, or they might less a deduction.

    2.  Sell to another Dealer, or trade buyer such as WBAC, Motorway.

    3.  Sell privately.

    4.  Keep the car.

Any of the sale routes will be unlikely to yield the same back as you just paid out.

Is this the same 2007 Yaris that you had in 2019 and was also having issues with black box insurance and parking?

A 2007 Yaris diesel must be easily worth £400.

    Good wind up.

Same manufacturer but different car. Yes similar issues now which I didn't think I'd have living somewhere different.

I don't think the dealer will take it back, it was only a small back street firm. I'll have to try and sell it to another dealer, unless I can find someone to take it off my hands.
He'll be only too delighted to take it back (unless he knows it has faults that you are not aware of), but at a much lower price than the £4k you paid for it. It's now got another owner on the V5C.
If you want to minimise your losses then you need to sell it privately.
However, since at the time of posting you could not have owned it for more than about 8 hours, aren't you being a little impetuous?

    Hi

Today I've bought a new car, however I now really regret it and wondering if there is any way I could get a refund if I wanted to? There is literally nowhere at home for me to park, and the cost of diesel plus other expenses to run the vehicle will be too high. I also work from home, so won't even be using it on a day to day basis and will have to take it for a run round the block every night. I thought it would make my life easier and more fun but I just really wish I hadn't gone out to buy it. £4000 it's cost me and on top of moving into a new flat where the cost.of living is getting higher, I just want my money back.
Did all that change while you were out buying it?

All of that was known before you bought it and sounds like a diesel wouldn't suit you anyway.
I didn't really think about whether I should drive petrol or diesel. I bought this one because it was the cheapest for insurance (using black box insurance).

There is normally at least one space to park in my street but as soon as I bought it home this afternoon there was nowhere to park and had to park 2 streets away, thus risking me breaking the terms of my black box insurance by not parking it in the correct street at night. (I don't have the black box yet, it's being installed next week). The engine size is also too big (1.6 litres) and the car itself is too posh (2007 Toyota Yaris).
You’re going to struggle working as a self employed courier.
