Acknowledge of service

Hi,
Im trying to help my son who received a claim form for a parking fine he supposedly received in 2019
he remembers vaguely receiving one letter saying he had a parking fine for overstaying a maximum 20 minutes stay pick up point at our local shopping park. He never reacted to the letter but can’t remember getting anything else’s.until the 12/8/22 where he received a claim form, we looked online for advice and sent an acknowledgment of service off and a SAR to the parking company and an email to Gladstone solicitors. We have received no cctv or photographs from the parking company or acknowledgment from Gladstone solicitors.
Do we still have to fill the defence (122 lines maximum online) or do we wait for the cctv or photographic evidence to come.
Thank you.

DO NOT do that, NO NO NO

Read the sticky announcement "Template defence to adept for all parking cases ..."

BBC WatchDog “if you are struggling with an unfair parking charge do get in touch”

Please email your PCN story to watchdog@bbc.co.uk they want to hear about it.
Please then tell us here that you have done so.

He will be defending by email with our Template Defence and must do so in time.  NOT ON MCOL.

As well as telling us the date of issue of the claim form, please tell us which date MCOL says the AOS was received, then we can confirm bespoke advice and defence deadline.

With a Claim Issue Date of 9th August, you have until Monday 29th August to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.
To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.

Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 12th September 2022 to file your Defence.
Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service on 12th August, the Defendant has until 4pm on Friday 9th September 2022 to file a Defence.
That's over two weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service instructions.
Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

Everything must be done in the name of the named Defendant, so everywhere I have written 'you' or your' I mean the named Defendant.

What about the cctv or photographs? Not sure how we create a defence as he can’t remember any details about it. Their asking for £292 the original parking ticket was £100

Ah ok. That means the deadline date for filing a Defence is a little earlier than I said.

Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service on 12th August, the Defendant has until 4pm on Friday 9th September 2022 to file a Defence.

I have adjusted my earlier post to reflect this.
