My son has received the same letter. Obviously fake and the email address replies are very poor and very bad English.  You cannot charge £600 for a car parking fine which has no origin and no previous correspondence of any description. Disgusting scam.
Glad you've spotted it as a scam. Reading back over this thread, are there any thoughts as to the potential source of the initial information passing to DRS?

  • I just received this letter saying I owe £600 for parking.

I have not received any fines for the last 4 years. I hardly drive my car. this is the first bailiff letter i received.

I tried to call them and gave them my reference number they said to call back in an hour their system is down.

I tried to put the reference number on the website it says to enter a valid reference number.

What should I do? If I receive parking fines I always pay. I haven't even parked in private or parking bays for the last 4 years.

    What should I do?
I have had exactly the same letter, same costs and same deadline and exactly the same reply as you did from them via email. You said that you put in your reference number on their website and it said “enter a valid ref number” .. I done this but put in DRS- (then your ref number ) my details came up on their site, bit alarming but I,m still convinced it’s a scam and will call their bluff.

It is without any doubt a SCAM!  Lose no sleep over this whatsoever. I put in a random VRM, random date, random operative number (and random data into other required fields) on their website, and OMG, I too owe them £600 for a single parking fine! 😄

Please can you try to work out if there is a data leak connection? We suspect it's from putting your details in online (including car VRM) for Deliveroo or Uber Ears driver insurance, possibly with Zego.

Please don't ignore this scam. You need to report it to Action Fraud and to CIVEA (contact details given earlier on this thread) with a copy of the letter.

Also if there is a Zego connection complain to them then report them to the ICO for the suspected mass data leak and for having no proper privacy page or DPO email.
I have looked online at car insurance quotations in the past month, did not go ahead with any but it’s showing on my credit report as a search by “UK Insurance Limited”

That doesn't sound right; none of that should show on a credit report AFAIK.

    Did you look at Zego?

Did you input data on any other food delivery driver insurance firm's pages?

  •  My husband got the exact same letter in the post, as you can see mine and
millionairmind are very similar. Spoke to the courts and they said to phone action fraud and report it, so that’s what he is doing. Hopefully it gets sorted and stops them targeting people especially in this time.

  • Ah sorry i didn't know the code function is not good. Here is the email reply.

    Good afternoon,

We do not have to give you evidence. We have a warrant of control issued by the County Court.

Our job is to recover the amount of the debt in any way.

But you can request details about your case by letter through the Royal Mail to our head office.

Our Registered Head Office is:  5-7 New Road, Radcliffe, Manchester, M26 1LS.

Once we receive your request, within 15 working days we will send you all the details we hold about your case (including the original PCN, pictures of your vehicle and a copy of the warrant of control), but please note that if the debt will not be paid on time, our bailiffs will start carrying out enforcement visits and they will begin seizing your belongings.

If the debt will not be paid by the end of 19th of August 2022, on 22nd of August 2022, our bailiffs will start making enforcement visits. With the authority of the County Court and the High Court, our bailiffs have the power to seize your belongings from inside and outside your house without your permission.

I hope I made myself understood with what I brought to your attention.

    Kind regards

Just looked up the address 5-7 New Road, Radcliffe, Manchester, M26 1LS they claimed to be their reg office and it came up as a a store you buy uniforms from.

Did he too input his data for car insurance, specifically for delivery insurance, @laurenquinn?

Did he get a quite from Zego?

    Or UberEats delivery insurance?

Is his credit rating showing a search, and who by?

It's important to know because we know the leak is online and not from data supplied by the DVLA.

FYI ... UK Insurance Limited is the parent company of Direct Line, so that appearing on a credit report as a soft trace is not in any way fraudulent.
