Please all report your cases to CIVEA and Action Fraud. And to your local Police, showing the email from Sara Roberts at thd BPA which confirms this is a scam that Action Fraud should be handling properly.

Also please give some thought to where you input your car details and home address and name/phone number online, in recent weeks.

Have you all used the same:

- car insurance websites?

- airport parking?

- new phone app to pay for parking?

well i think we can discount the insurance firm Zego since some of the victims would not have used that service

@Coupon-mad again not sure i agree , since the people involved have a very wide geographic spread in the UK which would make using the same airport parking firm unlikely

As i now have time i am going to go the Burton On Trent Address on Friday and see what i can suss out.

But the data has been leaked including the reg numbers. Need to find out the foundations of this scam so we can rip out the root. if you know what I mean.

Well ive got the landlords name and address of the property found out the company he owns which is a genuine one, got his mobile number and found him on WhatsApp, sent him a message and will see what he says in the morning

What i am also thinking is this, who ever occupies the address in Question in Burton is involved in one of two ways
1 the data leak
2. the parking industry
3. Or the option which i hope isn't the case, is the landlords address is one the data leaked addresses, but unlikely since he changed his address with companies house about 4 years ago

I reported to Action Fraud and will do the rest too. 

I got private hire car insurance quote from Zego and some others recently. I’ve not parked in any airport since I’ve had this car. 

I haven’t used any new app to pay for parking as I only got this car 6 months ago and didn’t need one yet. Only used RingGo and AppyParking

@Coupon-madIf they were the source of the data leak then would the company then have vicarious liability towards any victims who have paid up?
