Hi do you know if these are all a scam?? I received basically the exact same letter as you but for £605 the only thing that has me questioning is that I did have a unpaid parking fine from 2-3 months ago.

ALL of them are a scam, 100% every single one. A useful coincidence for you because it has brought you here where you can get help about the real parking tickets in due course.

My gut feeling is that this is a rogue parking company be it a BPA or IPC member ?

    I'd bet it's not.

    Nothing to do with parking.

Just some scammer who has spotted a way to get car and name/address and phone number data and has done a bit of research and copied Horizon's website and then copied a PCN and now, a bailiff letter.

This is an online data scam and the common denominator seems to be a Trade/food delivery Car Insurance website.

I suspect it's a rogue employee of an insurance firm or someone who has spotted that Zego's (or whoever) data might be insecure and has hacked their database.

Has anyone put this to Zego that it looks like hacking or an inside job, and that you are about to report them to the ICO for failing to have a proper data privacy policy on their website AND apparently (possibly inadvertently) leaking your data - and that of hundreds of other people -  to a scammer?

Has anyone hopped over to the Insurance board and asked who the victims should report this massive data leak to in the Insurance World, maybe the Insurance Fraud Bureau mentioned before?

A regular poster on the MSE Insurance board might like to come here and read this thread from start to finish (and the earlier thread about DRS) and might have some insight we don't have, about how to report an apparent huge data leak/hacking.

Has anyone else picked up that Zego is a trading name of "Extracover Limited" according to the Zego website (I couldn't see a mention of it before)?

No.  I think their Directors should be informed that it's possible there has been a customer data leak (allegedly) and that they (Zego) also reportedly have what seems to be an inadequate privacy policy/contact and will be reported to the ICO:

It may well be ZEGO breaching data protection but someone knows about what scares people in the scam parking industry, maybe a copy of  "Can't pay, we'll take it Away"

I bet it is BECAUSE desperation has set in
  • I have been getting a few messages on what to do. This is getting ridiculous, people are getting scared of this. Good thing this was down. I was in touch with a hacker on the dark web. He took the website down as a trial yesterday but asked for £600 for his details. I could not pay. Glad the website is down.

Got a Reply from Steve from the BPA. EVERYONE DO NOT PAY.

Thanks for your note it's definitely a scam.

You did not get a fine, just a flimsy old invoice

3 months ago is not enough time to result in what these jokers are doing

Firstly, there is an appeal to the parking company, that normally fails, then there is a second appeal service, then if that fails, known idiot debt collectors will send you toliet paper and when they fail, one of the daft legals will send a letter of claim giving 30 days and then maybe issue a court claim and then it's allocated to your local court for a hearing maybe 2-3 months away.

As you have a ticket and as long it's from a private parking company, not council, we can help but not on this thread, you must start your own thread

You are being scammed. You must now do a checklist on whom you gave your details to over the last few months which means anything online. Sooner or later we will have a match
Okay thank you for your help and advice I also received this text message today from them.

That message, and any like it, is most definitely a scam and can safely be ignored, but should be reported to Action Fraud.

If you have received genuine fines from the council or the police, then you should visit pepipoo.com for help.
If however you have received two parking charge notices from unregulated private parking companies, they have absolutely nothing to do with this particular scam, then as already advised you should start your own thread about it.

After seeing another one of these posted on FB, there seems to be no connection with food delivery insurance or recent insurance quotes.

Although insurance quotes seem to be highly likely, could there be any other links MOT centres in particular chains that hold VRMs and owner details?

     I disagree in a fashion
This is someone with some connection to the parking industry given certain wording on emails etc that are to detailed to be someone doing this on the hoof
This is to well planned for it not to be someone with at least some working knowledge of the parking world.

My view is the Burton on Trent address is the only solid link we have and that directors name is real

I think their real address was used in error (drs payments ltd)

Drs payments website is now re directing to indeed for what ever

So you have to work your way back from this guy.
