Might all be a moot point if they decide to fix the unit prices at current SVT and just hike the SC next year to pay for it. Not sure what would happen to people on fixes though. It's still a gamble whichever you jump!
    Interesting idea.

Lets just go from the "average" user and lets say 75% of gas = 9000KWh  is used in the 6 months the cap is frozen, and half the electricity is used = 1450KWh.

Lets say the cost of the frozen gas price is 7p per KWh and 24p  per KWh for electricity (both figures on the low site and not taking January cap into account).

SO you need to recover £630 for gas and £348 for electricity. Lets be nice and we don't recover in one year as suggested we do it in two years. That is 86p gas and 48p electricity additional standing charge  per day. Now the problem is that the real average is higher, so it would be even more.

Add for the first time I would agree with low users, why should they now subsidise high users, even so they never have a problem asking for high users subsidising them.

That was much later than I expected V18 to last.

Quick comparison based on the average used by Ofgem. Almost 95% more expensive than current SVT.

@pochase It looks like a wee error on the January SVT calculations? I get 1928.50 electric, 164.25 SC, total 4259.70, 354.98 month.

It goes to show how bad the market is now.

All through March this year Eon Next offered a fix for one or two years at the April Capped prices. Let's wait for the announcement on the 26th but I can see them being able to offer a fix at October cap rates this time round. (Hedging must be very difficult at the moment)

I managed to get them to delay the start date for this tariff to 24/09, it means we will still benefit from the price cap and then we'll see what happens with the new one come later this month. Didn't quite manage 01/10 like some though.

Did you move from a fixed tariff to the new one or SVT?

Well spotted, wrong consumption and day figures here. It should be 2900KWh and 365 days.

So it's still a lottery then lol!
  • Does anyone have the capped (EPG) unit rates for Eon Next Online v18?

I’m due to move onto that tariff on Oct 6 (and was expecting Eon to enlighten me today) but my account still shows the uncapped rates.

I'm due to move to v19 on 6th October, but their website is currently down and is being updated.  Hopefully when that's done we should know the new rates.  I must be getting sad when I check their website more than once a day!
