Evening turtles.I think I’m still tired after my weekend sleeping in a tent as I’ve been easily distracted today.Dropped and picked up DS from school. Spoke to Head about unreported head bump he got on Friday. Someone gave him a cold compress but forgot to take notes. Not ideal but will put it down to first day back at work and out of routine. Thankfully DS is fine.I submitted a claim this afternoon for refund on cancelled train back from our London trip. Fingers crossed for a wee something back.I also got in touch with plumber neighbour about getting a new radiator since original installer is silent.Got paid and have set aside half the money for next payment on ridiculously expensive hen do.
£2.42 payout from TCashback now transferred to mortgage OP.Grateful today for ticking some jobs off the to do list, for DS happily marching into school no problemo, and an easy bolognaise dinner from the freezer.

Today I am grateful for a super smooth journey, for being home, for a glut of rasps, for dc going out to a youth group, for dh making tea.

Today I am thankful that the renovation on the boys' bathroom has finally started, for orange and lemon fairings, for getting some paperwork sorted/ recycled (the sorted stuff still needs filing away - but it's an improvement!), for gettinga couple of small mending jibs done, for DS3 going out all day with a friend and missing the noise and mess from the bathroom as a result (I managed to doze through some of it as I slept badly last night and felt a little unwell as a result)I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £208

Today is NSD 11. Not one penny spent. The bungalow sold, so I danced around the room and hugged people at work. Because I have been making mortgage o/p's, I could pay off my mortgage when the money finally comes to me and have some left over.Grateful for: house selling, DH having a chilli ready for me coming in from work, having a fun time at work with some new people, and even the idiots were funny idiotic, not nasty idiotic.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well turtles my roast dinner and NSD wasn’t to be…..
DS invited his friend over for the afternoon. I put the oven on to heat up, took the chicken out of its packaging, it absolutely stunk 🤢! Took boys with me to local shop to replace chicken, also ended up buying a bottle of wine and gift wrap to make a friends birthday present look a bit more (why do I do that) and some cookies for the boys.
All going ok until we had a power cut at 5pm and new chicken had just cooked but roasters & everything else couldn’t be!! So chicken sandwiches for tea! Really not worth the effort I went to.Dropped present off with friend and had a cuppa then came home power still off so no footy for us. At 8:30 DS switched a light on and it came on which meant our house had tripped and the power probably came back hours ago!Our team lost so that just summed up the evening!!Trying hard to keep the reins on the spending until pay day. Starting to think what September will require budgeting wise.NSD still 11/15 hoping for one tomorrow.Grateful for: DS having good friends, power going off after chicken had finished cooking, a productive day at work.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Hi this morning I am grateful for a hint of weight loss coming back, as I have been piling on about a stone this year, that now has to go. For a lovely walk w ds1 yesterday, we were supposed to swim, but that didn't happen, so the walk was very nice. For having had a lovely summer holiday and slowly easing back into work and new routines.

Foxholes 🎉🎉🍾 congratulations!
@firsview win-win, happy spending 😃
Great news on the job front @wishus!
Thank you all for your well wishes yesterday. All tests were carried out easily (though was expecting the scales to announce "too heavy, get off!" The nurse who carried out the tests was someone I used to share a house with in my late teens, so was good to catch up. Saw DH attached to his machine on my way out, so can now picture it when he talks about it.
Only 10mins late for work, but no problems there. Work went ok, lots of steps counted following a 5 year old in the morning, then a colleague asked me to join her for a short walk after work. Had been chatting with another colleague about accompanying her on foot when she took her horse out, so decided to do it last night too. Had a lovely walk, part road, part beach, then on returning to the stable, she offered me a turn. Not an expert on horsemanship, nor ridden for over 30 years, but decided to grab the opportunity whilst I could! Life's too short to stay no! Used a mounting block to get on, my tight hip joints did a little groan, but I managed it. Dis-mounting was trickier & it was a lot further to jump down - hadn't realised how high the horse was until then 😂 stopped for a cuppa & a long chat. Colleague had collected me, so had to wait for her to take me home afterwards. Now I know where to go, I can make my own way next time, & leave a bit earlier!

Lovely picture, Thrifty. Glad your tests all went well.
Congratulation to all those deserving Turtles.
Nothing much happening here. Just plodding along with the never ending tasks. That pesky dog was barking all night again. I wish I knew who it belonged to.
Off to meet my friend for lunch so won't get anything significant done today. I'll be glad to get out and have a real good natter to somebody other than Himself and she doesn't talk about football all the time! I was hoping to walk along the river into town but it's soo wet so I'll have to get the bus instead.
Better go and get myself sorted out.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
