Achieved my NSD target yesterday. Today is a spend day for haircuts. Pay day today so budget for September done and pots replenished.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2608 -
Well I have a new soil pipe and all the pipes that go into it have also been renewed. They cleared the blockage first and have dug up the flags to replace the broken connection. It's all sleek and black and shiny and I just want to sit and admire it and stroke it. However I have also been to mum's, planted bedding plants, sieved stones and soil, moved edging stones and pulled up weeds. Signed on with the EA (they only charge 1%), the asking price is what I was hoping for and the photographer has been to take photos (he moved some of the edging stones and swept the whole yard for me).
So I'm now back on the bed because everything hurts. I cleared parts of the kitchen this morning, emptied the dishwasher, stacked all pots to be washed in bags (there were multiple bags with small amounts of pots and recycling in). I can see worktop in places. Going to have a good rest and then see what else I can get done.10 -
beanielou said:Grandmanerd ~~ your placard sounds fabulous.Yep! I'd love to see it!Today I am grateful for a much better day back at work than I expected, for dh taking dc bouldering, for actually getting a gf lunch provided, for coffee, for headspace. And thank you to all the turtle gang for joining me in the challenge. I had 6 days of camping (and helping cook for 120 people), 10 days of covid (still not right), 7 days in North Shields, 4 days trying to get a definitive answer to a basic question for work, and then suddenly it was the end of the month! Covid wiped me out like flu but I'm seeing my GP on Mon so I'll talk to him about it.Here are some more balloons for birthday celebrators and everyone who wants one: 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈

There are more than 99 luftballons there apple.Today I seem to be making a little bit of progress via the medium of electronic mail. Finally. Reminding them that they said they would be in touch within 40 days (how very biblical!) and that was nearly 60 days ago, seems to be the magic phrase. All my children are still hairy haystack heads, and avoiding the hairdresser. Grrr. This month was great as I said goodbye to NI, put things into an auction, took some DS's to visit the in-laws, scored free Posh Lounge entry on the boat for 12 months, sold a house, worked for a week, saw a 10m tall woman walk the streets of Le'stah and got my first T00-G00d-T0-G0 bag.Thank you for August @apple_muncher - I overspent by £4. Nearly stayed in budget though. See you on't canal bank.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Thanks for this month’s challenge, apple.Today I’ve been on the money…… bored of feeling unwell.Paid for 6 month’s of Saneberries grocery deliveries because it works out cheaper than paying monthly (£1.60 a week) and I won’t need to think about it until FebruaryOpened a savings account that pays 3.47% as opposed to our current one which has dropped to 0.18%! I saw the account mentioned on the MSE website. Thanks Martin! It’s locked away for 2 years, but it’s savings towards getting house reroofed and a replacement car in the very distant future.Cashed out £1.50 from TCashback. It’ll be off to a mortgage OP when it lands in my bank account.I’ve wrote a list for our house on saving energy. I’m sure OH will roll his eyes when I unveil the document.Grateful today for the tips and advice from MSE newsletter and website, for OH wfh, making me tea, and doing the school run, and for my precious little boy sleeping peacefully and safely in his bed, and for him making me laugh because I removed his thumb from his mouth three times and he sleepily put it straight back each time. 😂❤️See you in September. X

Thank you for August @apple_muncher.
Ended up on 15 NSD.
Thankfully a better day at work. Had some 5 year olds using pencil crayons very gently to 'put make up' on me. It was so relaxing in a classroom of chaos! Felt a bit stressed at the end of the day, brain going 10 to the dozen. Most local schools are to be closed to pupils for 3 days next week due to strikes. I'm not in a union, so will be expected to work as usual I think.
Took the carload to the dump after work. Read the paper, then after tea I shortened 3 pairs of trousers & washed the dishes.
Feeling tired now, & as if I'm starting with a cold. Hope I've not caught covid off DH.... I was negative this morning anyway.
Grateful for 'pampering', the smell of freshly cut grass, good music
Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

@apple_muncher, they kept telling me to close my eyes & keep them closed, but I was checking they weren't using the nearby felt tips & the one I was mostly supervising had his hand on a whiteboard marker! Had visions of going out for breaktime looking like Coco the Clown!!
@ldee2111 it's so relaxing, isn't it. An older pupil decided to rub his hands up & down either side of the top of my spine today, to persuade me to read the whole chapter of a book, without his help. Could quite get used to this! 🤣Use it up, wear it out
