GE UK Sparkling Tariff Opinions

One day soon, someone will ask this question and before they can get an answer the offer will be withdrawn from the market!3

I've just signed up for it - as soon as I heard the new 78% uplift figures from Martin. There's a 14 day cool off period, so I'm going to use that time to check I've made the right choice (I calculate a 21% saving moving to it from Octopus "Flexible Avro")1

That's what I did.wibbler said:I've just signed up for it - as soon as I heard the new 78% uplift figures from Martin. There's a 14 day cool off period, so I'm going to use that time to check I've made the right choice (I calculate a 21% saving moving to it from Octopus "Flexible Avro")
Now I've got 13 days left to decide whether it's better to fix for 2 years at a slightly higher rate instead.0 -
How are you getting the EDF tariff or is it only available to existing customers?What_time_is_it said:

To me it looks like a 3 way choice between GE 1 year fix vs whatever fix your current supplier offers vs SVR.
I've ruled out SVR.1 -
Have you considered Utility Warehouse (UW)? That seems to be the only available other option, at slightly more than Green Energy but with other benefits. I see UW as more obviously stable than Green Energy (GE), if only because I don't know much about GE - but they're more expensive, and you need to take two other things from UW to get the right discount.What_time_is_it said:Now I've got 13 days left to decide whether it's better to fix for 2 years at a slightly higher rate instead.
That's my dilemma for the next 14 days - UW or GE (or anything else that crops up in the time period!)0 -
UW are a horrible company with terrible customer services and use an MLM model, dependant on you taking their other overpriced services. UW broadband can be had about half price elsewhere for example. Well known for overcharging people and only reason they have positive reviews is because the reps are also customers so flood trustpilot etcwibbler said:

Okay so have gone with GE UK, just hope we can switch to either the price cap or a competitive fixed rate with another energy company next year!
If not I guess I will have to call every energy company and hope they accept me on their SVR1 -
Why is GE UK not in the news for their lower than normal tarrif?0
