I see that the Tide tariff has also just increased for their standard rate (weekday and weeknight), but their peak and low rates are as before. Even with more peak usage than their standard calculation it comes in cheaper than the new Sparkling rate, and it does include a SMETS2 meter.

I am not sure if they will give you a free SMETS1 IHD if you don't have one. I suspect not.

Can anyone say how long it took to get a terms and conditions email, or any kind of written communication, after signing up. It's now been a week since I phoned to swicth to TIDE tariff from my current supplier, and I haven't had anything in writing, though a phone call did confirm a switch date.
About 20 minutes after I received the welcome email I received a follow up confirming my details, Banking, tariff requested and costs per unit / S.C etc. It was the what's happening next email. Not sure if that's what your referring to.

If you're looking for a copy of the T&C's if you google Sparkling 2023 v6 Tariff, you will see a page that lists that and all their other products with links to PDF copies of the T&C's.

I made the switch by phone (because of a postcode issue I could not do it online) so things might be different.

Thing is that I never received a welcome email or any confirmation of details.

I am wondering if there is a problem with my email address. That has happened before with my mobile phone contract. I do have a secondary email address. I have emailed them yesterday giving both addresses and still have not heard back.

I am not VERY worried as I phoned yesterday and was told I had a switch date of August 11, but I am somewhat concerned at not having heard back from them.

I would just check your Spam folder first as it may well have ended up there. If it's not, maybe a quick call to GEUK would provide some reassurance that it is progressing.

It's definitely progressing, I've called and they confirmed. They said they would send the welcome email again, but I haven't got it. It's definitely NOT in the spam folder.

I guess I'll phone again on Monday and check if they have my email address correct. And maybe ask them to use my other email address.

I really wanted to hear from others whether the welcome email (and others) just took longer to arrive than I was expecting. But it seems these emails usually arrive quickly, so there is some kind of an issue to deal with.

After my online application Monday this week  i got a welcome to GEUK email & a switching to GEUK  email within 30mins, i don't expect to hear anything else until towards the end of the 14 day cooling off period.

Thanks. I didn't get either, so it looks as though something is wrong with my email. It's possible that my college email server silently rejcets some emails.

Had notification today from the supplier i'm leaving to say that they'll stop supplying on 7th Aug , looks like i'm heading for the 15 day switch that others have experienced.

My switch day was yesterday but got no communication from GE not even email. So called them to give meter reading.
    Anyone else experience same?
  • I got the initial "welcome" email immediately after signing up last week. Since then I've heard nothing from GE.
However, my existing supplier (EDF) have emailed me this morning to confirm that they have had the request to switch from my new supplier.
