NS&I website - going round in circles trying to log in

I've always had firefox set up to delete cookies amongst other privacy/security things. So I figured I could get a passcode to my mobile each time I logged into NS&I and not use their trusted device set up the same way I do with my bank. But after testing this a few times with the same browser on the same laptop I get locked out with a message saying I've reached my trusted device limit and need to remove a device by logging in from a device I've already trusted.
It says the trusted device limit is 3 apps and 4 browsers so maybe I could download the app and get back in that way but I'd be interested if anyone else has had the same issue or if they've logged in ok with a passcode multiple times. Customer services were no help in being able to reset anything.

It really is a bit stupid but it is NS&I. You'd like to think that was what the PIN should be used for.1

Spent over an hour on the phone to them this morning. There are several known issues with setting up 2-factor authentication - it doesn’t work with certain browsers or types of phone. They don’t know when it will be fixed and suggested I phone up every time I need to do anything, which isn’t exactly practical given the long waiting times at the moment. So there you go, another world-beating IT system from the UK government…1

Out of interest- can you make withdrawals from NS&I over the phone rather than via the website?

Helpfully, the entries are indistinguishable. No time and date. No ability to set a nickname or see when the device was last used. It looks like they are listed in chronological order based on my testing. Looks like the cookie is set at auth.nsandi.com rather than secure.nsandi.com, for those that need to set an exception.

Going round in circles again trying to login this morning. I'm using Chrome in Incognito mode which circumvented the problem a few days ago.
They are obviously developing a system that's going to be so secure that even genuine customers will not be allowed access.1
