peb said:So sorry to hear about the long covid. A friend took a year and more and it's over a year ago another friend who's a nurse was collating information for those trying to get a full understanding and a solution.
I'm not commenting on Mr El. It's so hard.

I'm seeing a lot more news articles about it than there used to be, so I'm hoping there'll be a lot more help coming really soon.
And 20kg of PPE! I'm surprised you can move at all wearing that lot! But a dementia blanket sounds a good, creative project - I think I know it as a "fiddle quilt"? And Mr El is starting to co-operate with a healthier future, that's got to be good, I hope that continues.3 -
badmemory said:20kg of PPE is an awful lot - like carrying a third of a woman around all day. No wonder your body is complaining!3

when I told him the % of people doing my job that get cataracts etc he got into a panic ... poor lad he may need to re think his career path 🤣4 -

Sometimes I work 10 hours sometimes I cover (but am not always out) 24 hours, the most I've worked is 19 hours at a time at this job, it just is what it is
I'm not always in the area that requires the ppe, but just now we are very short staffed and although we have new starts it takes two years to fully train a person to do my job ( that's after 3 years of training/ education to be allowed to train to do my job) , although things have changed and our new starts are having to learn at a faster rate with us "oldies" keeping them and everyone else safe ( which we all do exceptionally well)
I LOVE my job, I get a very very deep sense of job satisfaction from it, I can instantly help and change the course of outcomes for the better, right now much as it hurts my back/legs/ breathing, I couldnt see me doing anything else.
No doubt there will be a fair few people reading this trying to guess what it is I do 🤣🤣🤣3 -
