Hi all,
Thanks for your support, its appreciated.
nothing much to report, I havnt been up to anything but work, got some tests at the Dr's results came back, nothing to worry about but it seems I have some infection kicking about and my cholesterol which previously was 3.5 is now 5.4 so need to get on top of that,
hope your all well2 -
I found eating more oily fish and losing about a stone helped with the cholesterol...
Hope you get on top of the infection.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yep, hope they give you appropriate antibiotics, El. My sister recently had a terrible infection, amoxicillin didn't really do much, so she had to have a course with all sorts of precautions - stand up for 30 minutes, no food, don't go out in the sun, all sorts of things. It worked, though, infection has gone.
Weight is tricky! Just saw the title of your thread out of the corner of my eye - I absolutely *don't* have the balance right as far as my weight is concerned.2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
Hope you get the Cholesterol sorted EL. I’m sure you will.2

The crocheting sounds fun, I dont have that kind of patience although we were soldering in DIY class today - copper pipes etc and I made quite the bendy and water tight art piece - it was fun and relaxingDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Hi all,
work seems to have went a bit manic, I was on call yesterday covering for sick leave, was only covering 12 hours, called out 5 times home for a total of 45 mins and worked 13.5 hours all in,
finally decided to weigh my ppe as it feels so heavy, no wonder I have a bad back 20kg to wear for 12 hours is a lot.
Wages came in and Mr El did well with his alcohol spending in the last two weeks. he managed to spend just £10 more than he hoped, and he did cut down a lot, he is going to try for £50 for the next two weeks which if he manages will be phenomenal tbh.
Diet wise, I have managed to make a few of my changes for the cholesterol, still have some way to go yet though, I need to try and make a more consertive effort I think, I need to have no bread at all, so this week I'm gonna try a no bread week.
Spent a wee while sewing on my machine I am going to try and see if I can make a wee dementia blanket, not quite sure how I will do it, but I think I should try, also did a wee bit of crocheting, it's not pretty but I will keep practicing to see if I can improve
Soldering sounds like a much more practical fun thing to be able to do, I wouldnt even know where to start with it though.
Hope you are all good1 -
Breathing issues and exhaustion continues, I ain't gonna lie it's getting me down a bit, I'm frustrated with my lack of progress with my recovery from covid, have been back to the drs for more bloods and a meeting, it appears there are many of us in the long covid club.2

So sorry to hear about the long covid. A friend took a year and more and it's over a year ago another friend who's a nurse was collating information for those trying to get a full understanding and a solution.
I'm not commenting on Mr El. It's so hard.
Hugs2 -
El, I'm so sorry the long covid has got you
I'm seeing a lot more news articles about it than there used to be, so I'm hoping there'll be a lot more help coming really soon.
And 20kg of PPE! I'm surprised you can move at all wearing that lot! But a dementia blanket sounds a good, creative project - I think I know it as a "fiddle quilt"? And Mr El is starting to co-operate with a healthier future, that's got to be good, I hope that continues.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
20kg of PPE is an awful lot - like carrying a third of a woman around all day. No wonder your body is complaining!
