Woohoo 2!
Thanks for all the support and advice guys. Mr F is having wobbles now - not suprising given the importance of the decision but I've told him he doesn't have to press the button until he's 100% ready.
Health:- I'm walking FDawg with Mr F every morning
- and following with exercises for my sore shoulder. I've found some new ones which seem to be helping so I just have to be disciplined and do them whenever I can
- our diet is looking very healthy at the moment with all the veg patch fruit and veg we're harvesting. Lunch yesterday was Chard Saag Aloo with chapatis using chard and potatos from the veg patch. Supper was Lentil & Tuna Salad to use some of the 2 jars of roasted peppers I found in the store cupboard which are past their best before date 😲
- the second of the four lump sum payments came in this morning so I transferred that to the mortgage. We've paid 82% of the mortgage now 🥳
- the grocery shop continues to come in under budget due to the veg patch produce
- I ordered more food and treats for FDawg as he's running out of stuff. All budgeted for,
- booked tickets for Mr F and I to go to our town's country fair. Mr F gets a concession now he's so aged 😂 Costs met from the fun money (I'm spending this whilst we've still got some 😆) We'll take a packed lunch and a flask this year to keep costs down
- signed up to go to a NT property tomorrow with a couple of friends. I'm a member and have some CP vouchers which should cover lunch/refreshments.
Happy Tuesday folks.

I don't know if this applies to Mr F but knowing that you can get out sometimes reduces the need to get out.

I'm sure you're right BM - I can hear him in the study now singing along to the radio so the pressure is definitely off 🎶🎵🎶🎵

Always feels better when you have an escape route, and he can press the button anytime he feels it's right now thanks to your marvellous planning providing those choices Fortune! (I'm not sure if its Dave Ramsey who says that financial planning/stability/? gives you choices, and that's what's marvellous about it

Fingers on buzzers!
I think you're right guys - just having the option to quit has alleviated a lot of stress for Mr F. He has just returned from a meeting in the office and some other stuff has crawled out of the woodwork and cemented his decision to leave. So he's going to hand in his notice on Monday as planned. He's on annual leave next week so that should give the dust a chance to settle before he has to speak to anyone and he's going to put a suggested plan together for managing his notice period and send this to narcissist boss. He's going to cancel as many trips/meetings as he can and start to handover work immediately.
We're still waiting for lump sum number 3 to hit the account and we have a telephone call with Mr F's current employer pension provider a week Monday to find out what's what with that. In the meantime, we are both making considered decisions about any discretionary spending and squirrelling away into savings. This month's mortgage payment is £150-sh lower than it would have been without the overpayments so we are already seeing a difference. One of the drawdown pensions has about £500 more than expected in it so that's a win. I will need to change my focus now to managing investments 😲 It's weird to think we'll have some after all this time focussing on the mortgage.
We've started planning what to with all Mr F's extra time - I've said I'll start a job list for him 😂

Well that should cover the next 20 years! I am sitting here totally astounded as, whilst I have been typing, my bookmarket threads has jumped up 3. It was already more than I had - what is going on?

He's not going to be bored BM 😂
I can't figure out the notifications - there surely can't be 429 new comments on a thread every day 😲

I confess that I have spent less time bored since I retired than I did whilst I was working. I sometimes forget to turn on the TV for days, in fact only for an hour twice since last Friday.
