Budget: a mathematical confirmation of your suspicions
I spent the morning reconciling accounts, budgetting, forecasting and counting pennies so we have a better idea of where we'll be at the end of Mr F's notice period. We'll be ok 😊
The rest of the day has disappeared in a whirl of chores. I paid a toll fine for Mr F 🙄 - I couldn't moan at him really as it was the morning he'd had to get up a 2.45 am to fly to a business meeting (new boss doesn't care about health, safety and wellbeing 😠). I know he was tired and stressed so it's no wonder he forgot about it. Also paid the road tax for Mr F's truck. I still need to order a bulb for the oven and some chews for FDawg so will do that this evening.
Lunch was Smoked Mackerel & Potato Bake with salad which was delicious. I made it to use up the second half of a pack of smoked mackerel which we had in a Warm New Potato & Smoked Mackerel Salad for yesterday's lunch. I much prefer the Bake recipe and we'll definitely be having that again. Can you tell our new potatoes came good this year 😆 Supper yesterday was Prawn & Mixed Bean Stir-Fry to use up green and broad beans from the garden. I made my own stir fry sauce and substituted egg noodles for the rice noodles as we prefer them. Supper is in the oven as I type - Veg & Cheesy Rice Bake made with tinned tomatoes, added oregano and a couple of packets of wholegrain microwave rice instead of risotto rice. Another recipe to use up the courgettes 😆
Our broad beans are ok this year but we don't have many of them (planted too late again 🙄) but our green beans are fabulous and growing like billy-oh. I expect they'll be starring alongside the new potatoes in the meal plan for a while 😆
We have nothing on the agenda this evening so will probably watch a film and have a glass of wine. Mr F says he'd quite like to go out for lunch tomorrow though so I'll be putting my glad rags on 👗👠
Hope you're all enjoying the weekend.

Fingers crossed everything goes well for Mr F. It's amazing how much your stress levels drop once you know you have an out from a job which isn't working for you.

Standing on the edge isn't as safe but the view is better 🌄
Mr F spent the morning making sure he's ready to hand in his notice tomorrow 😲 He is and has no doubts about the decision now. I think my crunching numbers yesterday reassured him.
He spent the afternoon de-nailing and chopping more of the wood from the fence we replaced. There's so much of it and it takes a long time to prepare but our log stores are looking very healthy now. Although we'll need some hardwood logs to burn with it. He also repaired the broken vacuum cleaner and installed it upstairs and helped me dismantle the show display boards which have been living on my dining room table for the last few weeks.
I'm almost ready for the Show now and sent a note out to the team today to remind them of any outstanding actions and the schedule for the event.
I did some research on savings accounts and ISAs and will start moving money around this week.
Lunch was the Veg & Cheesy Rice Bake leftover from yesterday and supper was Feta, Sweetcorn & Chard Tacos which we were able to eat at the dining room table 😁
It's been a pretty relaxed weekend which is good as I've a busy week coming up. An early night will finish it off nicely 😴
Sleep tight.

Button Pressed! 💣
Mr F sent in his resignation this morning. Narcissistic boss has acknowledged with a very frosty response.

Yay congrats to you both and I suppose that kind of response was to be expected from the NB?4
