My high street charity shops are as dire as everyone elses but I am lucky that there are 3 hidden ones, all local charities, don't open full time and you need a car to find them but one has a 20p table, I got a brand new pair of Pretty Polly tights in my size for 20p earlier this week.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.4

That is a very lovely fabric and well done on making something on your first day. I bought a pair of CS blue pillow cases and converted them into curtains to go across the front of the cupboard under the washbasin in the downstairs loo as my most recent sewing effort. Not great, but better than looking at spare cleaning packages while contemplating, life, the universe and everythingSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

Please be careful with the grapefruit. I was given some a few weeks ago & for some obscure reason decided to check my sons meds (I knew mine were ok). I discovered that one of his ruled out eating grapefruit. My subconscious must have been working well that day. I always thought it was heart type meds but apparantly not.

badmemory said:A lot of the local charity shops here are rent free because they don't like all those empty shop fronts on the main streets. I have found though that the ones in ther much smaller local towns are actually much better stocked. All part of the make places difficult to get to & people won't go there even to donate.
I suspect it's the same for those here BM. It was just the one shop that I thought over priced... of course that was the one I found the fabric in 🙄

Thanks SL - it's L@ur@ @shl£y. It looked like it was an old duvet cover that had been cut into four for a project but then not used. I bought two pieces and there was actually more fabric there than I initially thought - maybe a metre in total. I love your curtain idea 😍 It sounds very 'cottagecore' which is right up my street. That's exactly what I'm hoping to be able to do too - recycle and repurpose. My first big project (for me) is going to be pyjama bottoms made out of all the old L@ur@ @shl£y duvets I have in the linen basket. The pillow cases always seem to wear first so I've been left with a few unmatched duvet covers over the years.

Oooh - I hadn't thought of that BM. And you're absolutely right, it can interfere with my medication 😲 Fortunately I take my tablets first thing so there was probably an hour between that and eating. Will certainly have to bear it in mind for the future.

There's no stopping me now 😆 This one even had a little pattern to follow. That's it for now though as I have a painting to work on tomorrow.
