Birthdays ππ₯³π
I've had a birthday this week so have been busy indulging myself.Β Mr F's is next week so the indulgences may continue for a while yet π
Health:- this morning I was happily thinking that my shoulder problem was resolving and then, this afternoon, it came back with a vengeance π’Β If it doesn't sort itself out soon I may need to see the GP
- shoulder problem has prevented most exercise so I'm just walking with FDawg at the moment
- healthy eating was suspended during my birthday celebrations but normal service resumed today.
- the stove is in and working well.Β We have tested it extensively πΒ I'd ring-fenced money in the savings to meet the costs and we've settled the invoice
- got the ride-on mower serviced.Β The cost came in within budget but more expensive than last year - not surprisingly
- everything is costing more π² I'll wait until 1 April when all the new bill amounts should be in and then take a fresh look at the budget.
I am smitten with my sewing machine π So far I've made a cushion cover, two bunnies (one has a home with a recent new arrival to the hamlet πΆ) a needle case, a gift bag (channeling @Cheery_Daff there) and repaired a pair of Mr F's trousers.Β The Younger Fortunates bought me a fabulous book about stitching so I may be able to graduate to using a pattern soon.Β They also got me some fat quarters so I have a bit more choice of fabric to work with for my little projects.Β Love, love, love sewing π
Early night tonight as we're recovering from the clocks going forward.Β Nice to have the lighter evenings but it does take my body clock a few days to adjust.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Fortune x

Back where I started
Meh!Β My arm problem is as bad as ever.Β I'm back on round the clock anti-inflammatories and trying to rest as much as possible.
Had to take the car in for service and MOT though.Β Came in just over budget as a sensor needed replacing but it passed with advisories about wear on the tyres again.Β I've already started saving for new tyres as I don't think they'll get us through the next MOT but at least I've got a year to get the money together.
We had Roasted Carrots with Goat's Cheese & Pomegranate with flat breads for lunch.Β I'd made it yesterday so it only needed heating up and putting together.Β Supper was a strange concoction of whatever was quickest and easiest to cook - cauliflower grills and potato croquettes from the freezer with baked beans and sweetcorn πΒ Pleased I was able to rustle anything up though as it's not easy cooking with one arm π
Other than that I've done very little apart from watch episodes of the SΒ£wing B££ on catch up.Β Learning loads about stitching so that's a positive.Β I read my pyjama pattern today and was a bit suprised to see it had pockets π― so a little more complicated than expected.Β I think I'm ready for the challenge now though π
I'm supposed to be chairing a meeting tomorrow evening but could really do without it.Β I'm waiting to find out how many are going and, if it's just a few, I'll probably cancel.
It seems like one thing after another this year but I'm trying to stay positive (with Mr F's encouragement) so reasons to be cheerful today:- Mr F is doing a great job of looking after me
- I have a new, efficient and safe, woodburning stove to sit in front of
- there's nothing in the diary until Saturday that can't be cancelled if I need recovery time
- SΒ£wing B££ π
