When they hold a payment into the kroo account “for review” how long does it realistically take?

they say b6 end of next working day which is quite shocking to me!

Any bank can hold a payment until the end of the next working day for checks etc, under the Payment Services Directive.

There is an option to freeze the card in the app.

And that is good advice for any account that has a debit card that won't be used frequently.

Wanted to open an account with Kroo but the app says its "not ready to process my application just yet". I wonder if this is normal, or if they've had an influx of applications due to the increase in interest rate today?

For transfers in, you may face fewer holds/checks if you use Open Banking.

Nope . Pushed 3 from my bank. First one credited immediately. The next 2 are under review. Tried one transfer via Open Banking from Kroo and that is also under review.

Unfortunately it seems like Kroo isn’t on speaking terms with Chase. There’s nothing dodgy with my payment so I’ll just have to wait it out.
