Tyres also have a tyre wear rating that uses 100 as a baseline. A 200 tyre should do twice the miles of a 100, a 400 should do twice the mileage of a 200. If you look closely at all the writing on the tyre, you should see the number.
Typically, a higher rating will cost more. Very roughly, UK cars will probably get factory tyres in the 300-500 range. EV's may get slightly higher ratings to help reduce wear.

Oh dear, I've checked and my replacement tyres are rated "Tread wear 340", which doesn't seem particularly good in the context of 300 to 500. These are "Michelin Primacy 4". These are supposed to have "excellent longevity" and also to perform well when worn, which is good because I doubt that I will want to replace them any earlier than necessary.

Lets not forget that not all tyres come with the same depth of tread.
My Goodyear vector had 8m/m when new, other makes can come with far less, some as low as 4m/m reportable.
Band new car may have a lower tread depth so manufacture can keep costs down.
