I find the insurance black box helps to curb my enthusiasm, no idea if the claimed 3.6s is achievable.

Like silvercar I'd never had a car with any decent performance as I never had the money or inclination, so traffic light grand prix was not for me. So it's very much the driver not the car influencing tire wear. But EVs are useful for motorway on ramps and passing cyclists safely, and that probably doesn't impact tire wear much. The rest of the time I probably anticipate better for the reasons outlined above.

To be fair I think that's actually better than our diesel cars. Some were only getting 12-15k out of the front tyres on a front wheel drive with all the weight of the engine in the front. May have got 18k with very gentle driving.

Tesla is 4 years old now, recently passed MOT, 44k miles on the (digital) clock and still has original tyres.

My TM3 is just approaching the first MoT and the tyres still have plenty of tread remaining at 33k miles.

I'm disappointed that my tyres only lasted 24,000 miles given that most others seem to do better. I drive around in Eco and B modes and so I don't actually press the brake peddle very often. Also, I rarely encounter traffic lights with dual lanes to race away from, not that I would. Am I doing something wrong or are some cars/tyres better than others?

WE find our leaf wears tyres quite quickly, especially the 24 - is this for a leaf?

I had to change the rear tyres on a Tesla Y RWD after 20000 miles but then I do enjoy the acceleration so it’s not really surprising.

I'm not convinced that racing away from the lights is a big issue for EV's. I've never witnessed tyre squeal from an EV as it sets off - I guess because of highly developed traction control systems.

The only time mine spins the front wheels is pulling away not in a straight line, such as joining a roundabout or pulling out from a side road, a bit too enthusiastically. The road is usually damp when this happens. It's been a long while since I've been caught out because I've adapted my driving style to the car.
Rapid tyre and brake wear is a result of poor driving technique, in both ICE vehicles and EVs.
