No. I meant what I said. Trump politics. A continuous stream of lies and complete disregard for the environment.

Interesting thread over on the Motoring board about a finance company rejecting a car and the end of a PCP contract due to the range on the guessometer.

Might be a consideration for those that say "I'll aways charge to 100%, that's the next owners problem if it impacts the SOH"

This report from the Australian EV site, The Driven, isn’t going to help BEV sales.

EV crash victims could be left to die in battery fires without training for responders, inquiry told

For comprehensive information on EV fires, training that is provided to the fire services and up-to-date research, the website below is excellent and is partly funded by the Australian government.

Yep, the Government seems to have adopted many MAGA tactics, and the 'astroturfing' (creating fake grass roots campaigns) methods of the FF industry.

Tory staff running network of anti-Ulez Facebook groups riddled with racism and abuse

An investigation has identified 36 groups that appear to be separate grassroots movements opposing the expansion of ultra-low emission zone (Ulez) schemes to reduce air pollution. They do not say they were set up by the Conservatives as part of a coordinated political campaign.

I stopped at a venue where the Tesla Superchargers were available for use by other EV's during the week.
I noticed something that could require better signage to avoid misunderstandings, particularly at busy times.

When charging a Tesla, you reverse into the space and the charge port is on the passenger side, so to the right when viewed looking at the vehicle from the front.  This makes it clear which charge station is associated with which parking space.

There was another make of car charging at one of the spaces.  Reversed in, but the car had the charge port on the driver side, so to the left when viewed looking at the vehicle from the front.  The car was therefore plugged in to the charge station associated with the adjoining parking space.  This meant, in effect, the other brand owner was occupying two charge spaces.

This is something that should be thought of and signage could be used to make it clear which charge station is to be used when in each parking space.

I thought about whether this is "EV Discussion" or for the Tesla thread but, I think, this is the correct thread as it refers to non-Tesla EV's using Tesla Superchargers.

That's one of the reasons the V4 chargers have a longer cable, to allow some non-Tesla's to use just one space, where their charge port would otherwise require parking across two spaces.

I think Tesla has issued some diagrams/guidance (in the US) for how best to park depending on your vehicle. For some, Tesla advise parking across two spaces. [Edit - but in the UK, I think they ask you not to cross the lines?]

I hope soon, as soon as I get time, to tabulate and prepare a graph of miles / kWh variance by month which should give an indication of the weather impacts.
    Watch this space...
I got the time to put down the miles achieved per kWh from owning the car.

From July last year to end April, my overall efficiency has come out at 3.56 miles / kWh.

    I graphed that as follows:

The low efficiency in July reflects the initial charge of an empty battery on collection of the car, so that is explained.

The high efficiency in November I suspect is an error in my data - I will review my records to confirm.

Ignoring the November oddity, efficiency does seem to be higher in August & September, then dropped through the winter until March and an uptick in the past month as the weather has warmed up.  I wonder, as well, if the efficiency in April has improved because of long motorway journeys.  Others have commented variously that EV's do not benefit from "motorway efficiency" in the same way as an ICE.  I think I have mentioned before that my experience differs and the best efficiency has been achieved on motorway runs.  I put it down to proportionately less cabin heating, conditioning energy plus zero brake use.

Finally, here is the screen shot after a long round trip during the week:

I charged to 95% on Tuesday evening and by Thursday evening, when I got to charge again I was at 11%.
So, that is 316 miles from 84% which could mean a full range of around 375 miles.
I was a little disappointed not to achieve under 200 Wh/mile for the full distance.
For anyone wondering, this was mostly motorway at outside lane traffic speed up to legal limit, or other lane at legal limit when traffic conditions allowed.  Traffic was not unduly heavy on either leg - journey start at 6 am Wednesday and journey start at 6 pm Thursday.  There were some lengthy sections of 50 mph limit roadworks in both directions.

This is the efficiency of my TM3P over the past 12 months measured at the meter (Miles/kWh):

    May 3.35
    June3.15
    July 3.17
    Aug 3.25
    Sept 3.11
    Oct  2.14
    Nov  2.65
    Dec 2.49
    Jan  2.47
    Feb  3.00
    Mar  2.56
    APR 3.34

The efficiency from the battery ranges from +9% in winter to +6% in summer.
