Furious driver used RingGo to park at Windsor Leisure Centre and 'paid ten times more'

I will not use these apps but in this one, it seems a well designed scam where you have to sign yourself out of the car park with the app ...... if you forget the charge keeps going
You could call this an open ended money scam. Do the older folk or non app savvy people understand this ??3 -

EURO CAR PARKS
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11069003/Grandmother-70-fell-shopping-handed-155-parking-fine-despite-rushed-hospital.htmlGrandmother, 70, who suffered head injury after tripping over while shopping is slapped with £155 fine because she left her car parked outside Morrisons while she was in hospital
Euro Car Parks rejected the appeal and said Rose should have informed them of the emergency.
What the f..... HOW COULD SHE >>>>see the pictures.
This is pure stupidity by Euro Car Parks and puts them in the brain dead category. A BPA MEMBER
Instead the the car park is operated by a third party nothing to do with us nonsense is trotted out.
Going by the time of the article I would guess the parking charge has been paid.
From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"2 -

One day maybe Morrisons (and the rest) will wake up to the fact that these cowboys are damaging their customers and in turn their business
On a more pleasing note, the other day I went to a local Toby Carvery. First time since covid. The same manager who I knew before.
It was closed for 3 months for an update and now it has a clearly marked car park, larger spaces than normal and can hold about 50 cars. It is right next door to a bigger retail park with easy access to both. NO PARKING VERMIN IN EITHER CAR PARK
I asked the manager about this and he said he gets many visits from parking reps trying to tell him about their benefits. He turns them all away telling them "I WANT TO KEEP MY CUSTOMERS"
Local to me is an Aldi ..... NO PARKING VERMIN
And Aldi did a smart move a couple of years ago, in another area they opened up right next door to Morrisons.
NO PARKING VERMIN IN ALDI
A PARKING COWBOY OPERATES IN MORRISONS
Guess who does the business ?
With the cost of living crisis, which is going to continue for a long time, the supermarkets should now consider not renewing parking contracts if they want to survive5 -
That is very interesting @patient_dream. It proves that the lack of a PPC does not lead to they chaos that they say it will. This will be evidence for the consultation tooThe pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.2

Right now, it's a war with the parking industry and with current circumstances, they will lose
And I'm sure government takes whatever the BPA says with a pinch of salt, let's face it, government was caught with their trousers down back to POFA2012
Whoever becomes PM next month, I am certain neither of them will want a mega scam operation on their watch2 -
https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/driver-fined-100-being-three-25562810
This is not a new story but I came across this when I was looking for PPL articles.
"He accepts he parked slightly over a bay, but he claims he thought it was unusable for other drivers because it's blocked by a huge concrete pillar. But Premier Parking Logistics, who are responsible for the site, insist that "drivers do use it"
How could a motorist drive through a concrete pillar into a parking space?

I think that Alexis Conran will be on Jeremy Vine next week. I did email and suggested that he devote a slot to parking scams and the stalling of the CoP. I have not heard back but if you don't ask you don't get.

SABA cancelled a PCN only when a retired journalist complained to the NHS Trust:
https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/news/cheltenham-news/hospital-patient-given-parking-fine-7410473
But the machines remain broken and the PCNs are still being issued:
“A spokesperson for Saba UK, which manages the car park on behalf of the trust, said: “Terms and conditions of parking are clearly identifiable within the hospital patient and visitor car parks. Failure to adhere to these terms and conditions may result in a Parking Charge Notice being issued.
We can confirm that a cash payment machine at College Road Car Park, which will accept cash and the option for users to make contactless payments, will be re-connected within the next few weeks.”
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

And one of the IPC's finest, ParkWatch, issued a PCN to someone displaying a Blue Badge:
https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-motorist-fined-not-displaying-24641027
The PCN shows it was issued for being parked in a disabled bay without clearly displaying a Blue Badge. And there in the picture, is the car with the Blue Badge open and displayed...
"Parkwatch has been approached for comment" says the newspaper.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
