But today, thanks to the Manchester Evening News' intervention, Ellie received the welcome news that the fine had been cancelled .....
.... and her modelling career ambitions have taken a turn for the better! 😄
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Makes you wonder how many more PCNs were issued - I doubt she was the only one affected.

I see Tesco still call it a fine .... As we know, Tesco are the last to assist customers with these scam parking charges, they talk rubbish.

Horizon .... if they had any shred of intelligence, they would have cancelled on appeal ...... but their cowboy attitude dictates they remain a cowboy.   Who is the organ grinder here ??? IT'S NOT TESCO

Tesco needs to respect their customers, they don't at the moment and I cannot see their mind set changing

It also begs the question if you have absolutely no interest in football how do you know it's a matchday, and even then if the traffic is that bad and you can't get out anpr catches you as it's not fit for purpose any way.
Total bag of do do as ever and what ever anyone says a scam!

Correct.  The management of Tesco are pretty thick not to understand they drive customers away.
I will not spend money at Tesco and frankly don't know anyone who shops at Tesco

I saw this today.  Not strictly carpark related, but still relevant as Its to do with AIRPORT DROP OFF FEES PRICE HIKES - so basically APCOA and VCS etc taking the p*ss even more so with their unofficial land taxes!

Slightly different focus but very true about middle aged and older people feeling unwelcome in car parks that only offer parking by app:

Nice case study at the end, of a landowner who cares about the user experience, which might be worth quoting in our responses to the Govt Public Consultation.

They are using ANPR so no doubt people are getting parking charges, but the heart is in the right place.  Luke Bain, a director of the Folkestone Harbour & Seafront Development Company, said the business was not only making money from its system, but visitors were finding it easier:

“We didn’t want people associating our car park with penalty notices and getting fined,” he said.
