Parking stories in the News/media

The BPA said about MET ....
"it was caused by an incorrect location" ???? ... whatever that means ?
Newtown in Wales is some 200 miles from South Mimms, which is Potters Bar.?
How can that happen, is it a dodgy ANPR or maybe incompetent staff
Either way, this must prove that ANPR IS NOT SUITABLE or reliable as the councils know
Imagine if the Police pulled this stunt ?
The BPA letter goes nowhere to explain and just says, ... "we know, so what, that's life"
The motoring public needs better than that

Coupon-mad said:I asked the BPA a quick question about whether all PCNs had been refunded by MET. Three misled victims (or maybe hire/lease firms who check nothing) had actually paid a £60 charge for something that never happened.
Just shows how the whole private parking charge premise is money for old rope, when a number of recipients are just going to pay when they receive any old letter with a pic of a car on it:Good Afternoon xxx
You are correct, this was caused by an incorrect location. The parking contraventions occurred at McDonald’s Newtown in Wales but the name of the site referenced was BP – South Mimms, which is Potters Bar.

This reminds me of some lyrics from the Johnny Cash song, Wanted Man
"Went to sleep in Shreveport
Woke up in Abilene
Wondering why the hell I'm wanted at some town half way in between"

No planning permission on a listed building for BaySentry Solutions
Whatever next BPA ??3 -
@patient_dream
I’ve filed a complaint with BPA - originally rebutted by Anne Bevis(ex One Parking Solutions) but under guidance from here i went back and quoted BPA CoP 4.3 and told her the reply wasn’t acceptable, that I didn’t believe she had given it due consideration, and I wanted to escalate the complaint. I also suggested she should leave her OPS baggage behind
It has now been escalated and they have contacted BaySentry Solutions…………….. allegedly
They don’t have a leg to stand on - the decision from the Council is quite clear4 -

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

@ hullensien
Nice to see you are on top of this one,
Whilst BaySentry have breached the BPA code, the error is a BPA problem as with many of these car parks with poor signage, the BPA claim to check them and in this case, clearly they did not.
The BPA should indeed sanction BaySentry or will it be just a slap on the wrist ?
Let us know the outcome please2 -
The point with BaySentry is that lack of advertising consent is a criminal offence. The BPA need to understand that one of their ATA members has committed a crime, and legal action is being taken against them as a result. Surely this must be a sanctionable event?
Like the MET case where PCNs were issued for a completely different location, and MET (allegedly) repaid all monies unlawfully obtained, BaySentry should be doing the same, and should have reported themselves to the BPA and the DVLA KADOE team.I married my cousin.
