To carry on with weight loss, I need more than walking, so I am off to zumba as a trial to see how I get on, on Monday, the lady running it tells me I'll fit right in, I'm not sure she has dealt with a slightly over weight, 2 left footed person, with poor balance before, but I guess the worse that can happen is she chucks me out of her beginners class.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Kaz.. that is an amazing results.. well done. zumba looks great fun. I have 3 left feet.. one is invisible so I fall over it all the time lol. You can't say you don't like it until you try it.. so there's that. I am physically incapable of doing anything much now.WM and DW on againno pack up sfor tomorrow as it is fish and chip day.Pixie tipped a full beaker of juice down her gizzard, threw a few bits of pasta on top and ran to the loo.. burped while running halfway there and upchucked it all ... and thinks that means she can't go to school tomorrow.. and OH just pandered to it saying he would take her out pokemon hunting.. school or bed for the day is how I roll.. I'm not playing that game.
Almost got a hat knitted.. I now have 3 cardigans and most of a hat to sew up. not sure whether to finish the animal blanket next (2 animals to knit and sew it all together) or finish the striped one (2.5 stripes left to knit) or do a couple more cardies to destash a bit more..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6 -
Morning all
Pigpen we used to have the school or bed rule here too. Then they used to go in and school would send them back again!
Feeling lousy here with the virus, and slightly scared of this lingering on/getting long Covid so I am following advice and taking it easy which is torture for me. Have just checked my work emails and it took me ages to string a sentence together to reply to one so work is not a good idea anyway. I just have to be on hand if my assistant has a problem and I have to do an easy Teams meeting later.
Have a good Friday all, it's going to be hot, breezy and dull here by the looks of things. Have put some washing on, I can manage to hang that out at least.9 -
Yep if we were ill on a school day, it was bed or school, and certainly nothing that resembled a 'treat'.
Walking done early, worse sight of the day, 7.30am no one on the beach or so I thought, then I spot an older man wandering starkers except for flip flops along, best sight of the day 2 seal playing in the waves.
OH has just been for his 5th covid jab or booster.
Ironing to do
Get sorted as I have 3 of my cousins and partners coming over tomorrow after noon, for food and drinks in the garden, so:-
Lawn cutting
Wash off patio furniture
Food / drink lists are made most is bought.
Find table cloths

Sorry if those who want sun haven't got it, but it's a scorcher here - car was 36degrees when I went to zumba.
- finished flying in the en suite, including washing the floor.
- put away a lot of gibble in the bedroom, including clothes off the line washed yesterday.
- went to zumba
- went out to lunch with friends.
- car said 33degrees even after driving home with the sunroof and windows open, so lay outside in the shade for a long time.
- watered greenhouse.
- did a load of weeding.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Good morning my lovelies xx
You know the song: I am a rock, I am an island? Turns out that I am a puddle. Roundtuits do not like hot weather ... you can call me Olaf ⛄
But I survived. And I'm ready to fly today. Slowly. OK, flutter. I'm ready to flutter. Slowly. While I unpuddle myself. Hmmm prescriptive text doesn't think unpuddle is a word! How bizarre.
Meeting up with L this afternoon, for a coffee at the posh farm cafe...and planning to offload a bag of books and a set of storage jars, as donations for L's sister's church's cs in cathedral city. Plan is to take another bag of books to the cs in town on Monday too .....yayyy I've finally been bitten by the declutter bug again 😇
I'm up made my bed, and supped my first brew. Brew 2 and toast next then I'll be back with a Round - to provide focus.
Talking about prescriptive text (see above) I received a message from a friend / colleague this week saying that she had a sore thrust!!!! She's not going to be allowed to forget that one in a hurry. Being diplomatic I just texted back 'too much information' 🤣
Much love to all

Round, you make me laugh!
Thank you.
We got the heat yesterday - nearly 30 degrees of it - so we all decamped to the forest for lunch and a shorter than usual walk in the shade. Then on the way home we stopped off at the market town, parked in the shade with all the windows open, and DH stayed in the car with Rosie while I dashed into the big air-conditioned MrS and bought some new undies and a pair of very nice but inexpensive lightweight trousers.
So far this morning I have done my finance checks, including a phonecall to my now-switched-back-to bank which was interrupted by the customer advisor's dog wanting to talk to Rosie- so friendly!
I have a trip to the chiropodist at 11.00 and need to buy some lemon jelly to make the Jubilee trifle for a special meal on Tuesday (DH's Polish friend and his wife are coming for the evening, before they return to Poland). If I'd thought about it sooner, I could have bought it at MrS yesterday, silly me! I must also ask my friend who made the trifle for the Old Wives if she's got any Amaretto left, and if she has, I'll buy a little from her, rather than splashing out on a full bottle from MrAl.
The expected rain has just started, so it is cooling down here after a sticky night. I shall not be gardening today if the showers get heavier. but I've got plenty to keep me busy I'm going out to a friend's ordination this evening, an hour's drive from here, so we need to have our main meal at lunchtime, and I need to take a pack-up (to eat in the car park before the service, not during the sermon!)
Hope everyone has a good weekend. Poorlies, please rest and GWS! xx
