Welcome back ASB, we’ve missed you too. And eggs here too please - love them!
Narc0 - lots of hugs, enjoy your break and be kind to yourself. And we never tire of hearing from you, whatever you need to get off your chest.
Round - keep on truckin’, you’ve handled the past week magnificently.
Iona - we too have alpine strawberries, here and at the allotment. The birds don’t seem to pay them much attention compared to their blousier cousins. I sprinkle them on salads, as to wait for a bowlful might be to wait for eternity!
I’m earning my flylady stripes today - fed up of this lingering lurgy, so I am beating it into submission with a duster and a cloth.
Bedding stripped, including the mattress cover, washed and out on the line in the sunshine.
Whole house (apart from LR which is for this afternoon) dusted, vacuumed, tidied.
Bathrooms scrubbed, floors mopped.
Kitchen floor mopped, mop and bucket drying in the sun.
Mr M slot nabbed for tomorrow evening to get some fresh food into the house.
Bread is brewing on the worktop, to be cooked later. Will have to work out how much else I can squeeze into the oven at the same time, as I now use the oven as little as possible (maybe once a week max) and if it isn’t full, it doesn’t get lit.
DD is due back later. I’m on tenterhooks as she is doing a 5 hour drive home, and is already delayed as a friend’s car has broken down and had to be towed. I’m not going to rest until she is back.

On my way home I bought DSiL's birthday present and dropped off a box full of oddments at the CS - fer-ling!
Fayolle, have you gone completely bonkers today?
As for my list, if it's gone, it's done:
- keep going with the admin work
- go to optician this afternoon and get my prescription checked
- I must also pick up tablets from the pharmacy
- walk Rosie
- do some long-overdue little gardening jobs (DH minced the lawn yesterday - that's twice in a month)
I have developed a headache, which I will need to sleep off before seeing the optician, but lunch is needed first.9 -

And just to prove it…
LR dusted and vacuumed (around DD’s detritus from uni that has been stacked in there).
I might go and contemplate the garden shortly, seeing as the green bin was emptied this morning, and an empty green bin is such a temptation to fill…8 -
Well I feel truly poop today.I had a nap.. and now I am really dizzy, my head is grumbling still behind the wall of medication and I feel quite icky..I finished knitting a baby cardy but that was not even vaguely taxing I started another and once I've hit the point I need to look at a pattern I put it down..
OH made me a cuppa I cannot drink.. this is how bad I feel...

Lots done today, it sounds like everyone has been busy.
Thanks for asking Kaz, it’s all going well thank you, exhausting and I’m having to learn lots of new skills to adapt to such a rural way of life but it’s fabulous.
Fayolle I hope DD is back okay now and you can settle?
Enjoying a beer in the sun now overlooking the moor listening to the lambs. Heaven xx

Enjoy your break, Narc0 x
ASB good to hear things are going well.
Another reasonable day.
- went for a gym swim
- stopped off to use C00p vouchers on salad and they gave me an extra 50p off fruit - even though I didn't buy any!!
- put immersion on and gave kitchen about a level 2.
- took bones out of chicken broth, pulverised and froze as soup x 2
- almost finished a report; will finish tonight.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Sounds nice asb glad things are going well x
Just 9 hours at the paid stuff today, cycled in and it was nice weather for once. Have dusted and hoovered LR and bedrooms, changed our bed, brought clean washing in and folded it ready to go away. Kitchen floor hoovered and mopped. We had leftover curry out of the freezer for tea so that was easy.
I think I am getting a cold. I have so much to do at the paid stuff and not getting through it is simply not an option. Early night for me.9 -
Took Pigpen’s advice and stopped rather than go for the burn out. Pretty pleased with the day’s achievements f I close my eyes to the bags of “stuff” that DD has deposited around the house.
DD home safe and sound (thanks for asking, ASB), epic trip, more miles than she has ever driven, but good experience. With hindsight of course.
Easy (frozen emergency pizza) had for dinner. Kitchen tidied. Wm loaded for the morning. That’s me done for the day.8
