Another very hot day here.
Yesterday the housework was done in record speed as late in the evening agent asked if she visit in the morning, advantage is the place is clean and tidy.
OH is cutting the grass before it gets too hot, yesterday afternoon was spent chatting to the lady who looks after the cats when we're away and I know she likes to chat from time to time.
Last load of washing to go on soon so we have everything clean to pack this afternoon.
Bed made, clothes picked up, windows opened and curtains closed to keep the heat out. As long as the curtains are kept closed when the sun is on that side of the house, the place stays reasonably cool.
Ironing done
Banking & spending checked
Off for 10 days in UK tomorrow, excited to see family after so long but I also know I will be glad when it's all over.

Well as I refuse to paint window frames in direct sunlight.. (the paint doesn't dry properly) I am going to fiddle about with the kitchen and do some knitting.I have a couple of emails to chasea parcel to returnshoes to order for Squeak (5.5) and Pixie (4).. big footed giraffes!
I need to snip a couple of toe nails which are poking into their neighbours.
My hayfever is so bad today.
There is a bit of laundry I couple put away in my roomSome christmas bits to go in the stash under the stairs.
I have to sort the outgrown school stuff to fling as well. There is a lot to go. I might fling in some socks as well and some outgrown shoes. If they can help others then they are better than being binned or CS'd for them to bin. Are CS's getting far too picky?LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
So far this morning I have
- picked up lumps of Rosie's fluff off the LR floor
- checked the letters I wrote yesterday
- found a mistake in recording receipts in the church accounts - oops! - but fortunately it is easily corrected
- showered, dressed, eaten breakfast
- S&S'd bathroom
- loaded the DW and S&S'd kitchen
- done WMx1 and hung out
- started WMx2
- decided that if I can't buy any pyjama sets that I like (I heartily dislike wearing slogans), I might as well buy just plain tops and some fabric and make the trousers myself, emulating the celebrities on GBSewingBee
- filed one piece of paper
I must
- correct the accounts
- file lots more pieces of paper
- hang out the next load and start WMx3, once DH has brought me his crate load of dirty washing
- do some more admin jobs
Where is this heat that everyone is talking about? It's not really hot here - the sun keeps disappearing behind hazy cloud, and the trees along the lane at the back are so big and leafy that they cast their shadows on us by about 2pm!

Chuffed to bits here, blood test results back my HBA1c is down to 45!! from a number double that, I am so please with myself, it just shows I can do it, I will continue to do it..............
WM load done out on line
Food shop done
Walking done before I did any thing else and it gets too hot.
Windows open, curtains closed here as well
1 cat asleep on kitchen tiles, no idea where the other 2 are.
To carry on with weight loss, I need more than walking, so I am off to zumba as a trial to see how I get on, on Monday, the lady running it tells me I'll fit right in, I'm not sure she has dealt with a slightly over weight, 2 left footed person, with poor balance before, but I guess the worse that can happen is she chucks me out of her beginners class.

Well done Kaz - that's quite an achievement!
DH has received a provisional date of 7th July for his op. Fingers crossed we both stay healthy.9 -

All the smaller grandbeasts are boys so none of it is any use to them.1x WMKnitted a baby sleevepurchased Squeak shoes.. I need to pick those up tomorrow.

Hello all. Well done Kaz.
I have done one work shift and two walks. That is it so far. Off to wash dishes then have a cold shower.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Thanks for the get well wishes all. There are deadlines that have to be met at the paid stuff and no-one able to do the work except me, so I worked this morning, then went to bed for a bit, then did a bit more. Thank goodness for working from home.
I still had to take in the shopping delivery and put it away, concoct an easy tea, and do some laundry, but I have tried not to do too much. Not being able to run/cycle/do my gym stuff is going to kill me so I hope I get over this quickly.
Iona I totally agree, I have the same issues, who wants Winnie the Pooh pjs when they are 50? I can never find ones I like.
Planning an easy day tomorrow, I will have to do a Teams meeting with a colleague and my assistant is covering a meeting for me and might need some help, but otherwise I will try to do as little as possible.8 -
Well done Kaz, keep up the good work 😉Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Good news Kaz
We've got the hot weather here too.
- went for a run before it got too hot.
- cleaned shower cubicle while I was in there
- Put a load of washing on including bath mats
- gritted teeth and took sample to GP for follow up as requested.
- Finished and emailed penultimate report of the academic year. Started writing final one.
- ordered bird food.
- went to drum lesson; new tutor seems good although very young!!
- having talked about it for ages, found car park near river in Hertford, walked 9mins and had a fantastic swim in river. Peaceful, calming and just lovely. I'll certainly be back. It's the next town along from my drum lesson, so may make it a regular post-drum swim.
- checked plants and watered greenhouse.
- kept up with emails (note I don't say 'caught up with').
Very pleased with a new solar powered water feature we got from Ald1, adds to the new patio. Not sure what the birds think of it. Talking of which, the pigeon nesting just outside our front porch has a chick. Nest is pathetic; bits have been dropping off it ever since it was built; the female hardly fitted in let alone a chick too. Why couldn't the fairies nest in my garden?Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9
