What is your average daily use? (Just for fun)

At the moment about 5 Kwh Electric and 0 Kwh for Gas.
I don't use any Gas over the Summer. Prefer to boil a kettle / use a shower.
Use a Lister Diesel Genny converted to run off used veg oil for the bulk of my power needs in the Winter. This also provides enough waste heat to provide background warmth to a small home office when WFH.
I Use the Summer to build up both credit on Gas and "Fuel" for the Genny

2 bed mid terraced, just me and my daughter. No solar or anything fancy.
Electricity: April to end of September 2.6 unit's a day (80 a month), October to end of march 4 kw/h per day (up to 120 units a month).
Main culprit fridge freezer, and in the winter lights and oven.
Gas: April to end of October 3.3 units per day or 100 per month at the max.
Culprits washing up and an special needs daughter who could stand in the shower all day.
November to march 20 KW/h per day. Although this is averaged out over that period, some days can be nothing used and others I can use over half of what I use for the whole of a summer month. But this depends on weather of course. I've learned to !!!!!! off round someone else house in the winter months and over stay our welcome.

We average between 5-7kw per day. However, when I charge the car this can increase to between 30-34.0

My average is 4 kWh per day for electric and around 1.5 kWh for gas but ?it has being know that on one or two days, normally weekends, that my daily usage for electric is as low as 1.5 kWh and 0.8 kWh for gas.
In winter the gas usage goes up to around 13 kWh per day but the electric usage stays the same, the electric usage depends on what time I get up but mainly from 07:00 to 16:30 then a few hours watching Netflix before I turn the bedroom PC off and go to sleep.

There are definitely some super scrimpers on here.
I do wonder where the balance of quality of life over pushing things too far is. Some don't have a choice as they don't have the money but for others you have to decide if the extra 50p-£1 a day is worth it for the enjoyment you get from being in your home. We pay a lot for house and rent if you don't own but for it to be potentially a cold and depressing place isn't the balance we personally try and reach.

Just read the meters for May - no heating but the gas is still ~ 17kwh /day for hot water and the hob - I suspect that we use up the hot water much faster than many because we have a high pressure pumped shower - don't think I could go back to the old gravity fed showers now ,all part of the "might as well be comfortable" scenario. Will have to try to turn down the tank thermostat a bit for June to see whether it makes a significant difference to the usage.2 -
I think it’s fair to say different strokes for different folks 😊
Please don’t assume because we have low electricity use that we live in cold and depressing homes, it’s far from the case and as a parent to young children there is no way I would ever allow that to be the case. Our quality of life is quite wonderful 😊😊
It’s just different here 😊take today for example. The open fire is lit, as it generally always is. The kettle is on it, as it is all day, and I’m about to enjoy a pot of tea. There is also a pot of bolognese on there for lunches, which is warming nicely (homemade out of the freezer).
The washing is blowing on the line, the children are playing with the chickens outside and I have my beloved radio 2 playing through my phone so it’s with me wherever I go.
In winter it’s much the same, except both fires are lit all day long and I can assure you when you’ve been working outside all day as we do that soon gets you warm!
I would say traditional, you would say otherwise. But if we’re happy in our individual choices that’s all that matters. As I said, this thread is just for fun 😊😊

For May, we used 124.4 kWh of electricity - average 4.01 per day. Down from April average of just over 5 per day.
Gas 305.18 kWh, average of 9.84 per day. I’m sure I can improve on the gas more. I turned off the evening hot water half way through the May and am being more careful with morning usage.Understand where @Mstty & @brewerdave are coming from - I’m hoping to make some savings now and be able to enjoy more heating come winter. We have a log burner which is excellent for weekends and days off, but not quite so practical when coming in from a late finish at work!0
