Enjoying these posts guys xx0 -
That's from the grid, solar panels provide the rest including hot water.0

My last 30 days elec (most recent day on the right) - all cooking is electric and a tumble dryer.
Overnight base load averages around 300W

I've got solar so I'm not sure if I should be playing this game!Over the last 30 days we've used 101kWh from the grid (3.37kWh/day, some of that for off-peak water heating) plus 223kWh of gas (7.44kWh/day, all for water heating). That's for four of us, two adults two teens, in a 1950s 3-bed semi.N. We had smart meters installed 4th March. Since then, our average electricity use is 3.2 kwh per day.
Our average gas use is 8.0 kwh per day, but this includes a lot of time without the heating on, due to warmer weather. Looking at just 4th March - 4th April, our average gas was 15.8 kwh per day.0 -
Average for the last month 0.5kWh leccy, 4.8kWh gas.
Solar and batteries cover most of the electric, odd watts sneak through and from moments like when hubby puts toaster on at same time as kettle, grrrr. Will get some credit from the 278kWh we've sent back to the grid on Octopus Agile. maybe £35-£40. Hopefully might be enough to cover the supply charges
Gas use is from heating the hot water tank daily and a bit for the hob.

I'm now averaging at about 1.5 kWh daily for electric, and this past week has been 0.12 kWh daily for gas but I'm still experimenting with that. No solar power unfortunately - but it's been really interesting to see Benny's and other solar users' figures. I'm a one person household. Basically, I think I've now reached an almost-camping lifestyle but indoors.
Electric: No use of fridge, freezer, dishwasher, tv, dryer, PC, oven, but careful use of lights, kettle, washing machine and microwave, plus laptop, internet, phone and other small electricals that need charging. I'm vegan and through the summer am only buying food that does not need chilling or much cooking. I'm also lucky in that I have a couple of useful food shops within walking distance and I have some tinned food in the cupboard for emergencies. I think I'm going to struggle to keep the electricity costs this low when the heat of the summer arrives and I would normally have switched on a fan.
Gas: space heating switched off, water heated every couple of days for 20-30 mins only (for quick showers), low use of hob. The fact that I can hand wash dishes perfectly well most of the time in cold water has been a discovery.

Us low users still have the problem of standing charges of course.2

Have friends who live in a very rural area totally off grid, with solar panels/batteries to run fridge and lighting. Rainwater captured for washing, stored in black painted containers to absorb summer heat. Calor gas stove for cooking. Composting toilet, which takes some getting used to!
