Hoping all goes as well as it can in Wales @mothernerd.
NSD#1 woohoo!
A beautiful, sunny day. Changed the bedding & looked out summer shoes to bed in. Packed a picnic, then DS1 drove me & DH to Birsay when he'd finished his work. We then proceeded to follow the St Magnus Way map that took us back to our village, 11 miles in total! We found paths we never knew existed, lone standing stones, beautiful loch views & a pair of ducks with 8 ducklings. We had s great time 😍 I needed a nap when we got home, then I cut out a memory bear, removed the sleeves from a dress & did some crochet whilst watching a film.
Grateful for new routes, beautiful scenery, endless blue skies

Back from trip to London with Mum - we had a great time. The ABBA voyage show was incredible. Mum was like a child on Christmas morning, bursting with excitement and joy.Budget is set for this month. I’ve just done our Sunday Sweep (moving this week’s underspends into either mortgage OP or holiday savings). No underspends in leisure this week but underspends in transport and food mean £70 is going into the holidays account and £24 to an OP.I didn’t have a chance to check in last week to share our good news that DS got a place at our preferred school after appealing his refusal. The school’s special to me because it’s where my Mum and I went, and I wanted DS to be starting school alongside his friends at the school’s nursery.Grateful today for waking to sunny skies, for my little house, and my family. Today I feel very lucky in life.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸8

Take care, Mothernerd and accept all the help that you're offered.
Yesterday was a lovely day but still awfully windy. But it got the bedding dried on the line. Had a short walk to the shops and bought chicken for today's Sunday lunch. I wish I had such a beautiful area to walk in as you do, Thrifty.
Himself has to go for a jab today. Funny day to be calling people in for that but I guess they're struggling to catch up. The Boy is taking him, if he remembers. He has a memory like a sieve. Whilst he's out I think I'll tend to my plants. Some of them are needing re-potted again. They seem to be growing like wildfire this year but they look beautiful. An absolute riot of colour.
Last week's meal plan went well. Meaning we stuck to it with just a few swaps of days. I have made one for next week but I'm going to look at it again as I think there are some things that could do with using earlier.
So, I've just had fruit for breakfast and I am now going to have a coffee and then I'll get on with doing something productive.
Have a lovely day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -

Good afternoon ☔
Hugs Mothernnerd. As if it wasn't stressful enough - transport changes on top. You've handled it so well and rationally. I think I'd have had a melt down. You seem to be very grounded which is amazing.
Here's to new beginnings 🥂 I have realised the last few days how many bad habits I have adopted and how many of my good ones have slipped in my time away... not least of which is my control on my spending. So today I have started a mood diary... Each morning I'll clock my mood on a sliding scale, then am going to try and track a whole number of things... diet, caffeine, wheat, sleep, mindfulness, exercise, social contact, medications etc and jot down any triggers I notice.
So today I noticed dark and rainy --> didn't want to go out --> sat down to watch something on Disney + --> ate chocolate/crisps even though not hungry --> mood dropped --> spent money online. That kind of thing. I am going to try and standardise as many things as I can (medication, hours of sleep, caffeine) so that hopefully I can identify the things that might be affecting my mood. It may be it just 'is' and it truly is depression. But I am suspecting there is a whole lot more going on if I can just unpick it all. So for the month of June I am going to become Miss (Mr!) Marple!!!
Yesterday and today = spend days. NSDs = 0!!!
This is no good. I've spent on dribs and drabs with no planning and impulsive spending. I am going to get my calendar and plan my spend days for the month. Thinking I need to cut up my credit cards again too.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Time on my own to reflect on things
2) For the new friendships coming into my life
3) The forum - for being a bit of an anchor and reminding me of why we are all here
Have a great day folks x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Definitely the last day of the holidays feeling here too! Ds2 has 7 GCSE exams this coming week - thankfully the following 2 weeks are less intense.
Thankful for toast, crumpets, lovely weather on Thurs when we did afternoon tea in the garden, fluffy blankets and slippers, food choices for people (I'm not really getting involved for a few days - crumpets and toast are my current sustenance!) , a couple of small flebay sales (decluttering and money in - win/win), some other decluttering (CS, recycling, passed a couple of things onto my mum) good friendsI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206 -
