Had a little nap and felt much better and had a relaxed rest of the day so far. Left leg is still hurting so resting it as much as possible. I have collected nearly full bags of rubbish, paper recycling, pots and recycling for washing. Have cut the top part of one of my 'favourite' dresses - to be honest I'm not sure whether it's worth sewing onto the bottom of a t-shirt. Several large holes including 3 big enough to poke a finger through that could all merge into one in an instant and approx12 'needle' sized but I know from experience that these get bigger very quickly. I may have to bite the bullet and let them go. I love them and they've been part of my life for so long, would buy replacements in an instant (although the 2 newer ones are wearing much faster than the old ones).
Rethinking the 'trip' clothing (my grand adventure, going to a funeral). I have 2 new pairs of leggings. I could wear them with a variety of t-shirts, tunics and dresses (if I have leggings I'm not worrying about tights/ long socks/ showing too much leg (the tunics cover my bum but still need to be careful bending down). They're all foldable and will travel without the need for ironing at the other end. yes 4 dresses to go + one I have been painting in (I have a t-shirt, a top and a jumper + one pair of painting leggings, will downgrade the next least reputable pair of leggings. then look at my wardrobe again. There are a number of things that are showing signs of wear but some newer things.
Planning an hour of '5 minute tasks', an hour of paperwork progress and hopefully an hour outside (was too hot whilst the sun was at the back). Should make some food as well (or at least prep for a cooking session tomorrow. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -
Took the long way to walk to the shops today through the small park and along the road with nice houses and gardens. I've always admired a lovely Japanese themed garden on that road and for the first time ever the lady who owns the house was in the garden and we had a long chat with her. She is rightly very proud of it. Anyway the walk was just over two miles. My nearest country park is five miles away so it's going to a while before I'm fit enough to walk there.
Bought potatoes for baking which we are having tonight with a home made spicy tomato sauce from the freezer. Think I might struggle a bit with NSDs this month. Actual spends will mostly be low but I've got a few things that I do need and our plan is to walk to the various shops which stock them to increase exercise and get out of the house a bit. We'll see.
Otherwise, I've been a bit lazy housework wise today but I have been eating sensibly and I an getting myself into a routine re my self care.
Have a good evening.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
Evening Turtles. Spendy day today as Mr T delivered my shopping. I did score some free plants though as I took one of my customers to the garden centre and he told me to get something for myself, so I did!
Spent this afternoon potting them up and doing some jobs in the garden (very slowly as I am still not very well) OH mowed and left a wild flower border which looks really nice. Got 2 loads of washing dry on the line as well. Thank you Mothernerd for your kind offer, but I am determined I am going to stick to the rules. I did find some summer clothes in the loft which fit now so I think I am sorted for my holiday, and it has made me stop and think ‘do I actually need anything else?’
Today I am grateful for free plants, this challenge keeping me in line and realising just how many wild flowers there are in grass8 -
Hi guys
I missed checking in yesterday because I was absolutely shattered, it had been such a busy day at work and even less staff than whats classed as normal at the moment.
On the up side I’m on NSD 2 already.
Today has been busy, but not quite as bad. I managed to watch half of the Trooping of the Colour before I went to work. I’m a bit grumpy that I’ll miss most of the celebrations cos I’m working but today and tomorrow are time and a half so that is a small bonus.
This month I only have one birthday present to buy, the rest are all cards.
We are managing food wise on what we have plus the odd bits such as milk and bread to keep costs low. Next month is going to be expensive, we have a friends 60th birthday which we are going on holiday with. But most exciting is we’re getting a grand baby ( which obviously will need something either pink or blue when we find out which we get.) Both events are special and where we aren’t going to go mad we’re not going to skimp on.
So I’m just aiming on as many NSDs as possible but the main target is to spend as little as possible.

Sad news today, my last remaining aunt has died, so I will also have a funeral to go to at some pointMade marmalade this morning, using tangerines / clementines from a Lidl £1.50 veg and fruit box. I got four and a half jars.Did the housework, with OH's help, summer pruned the quince tree and dead headed the climbing rose, did some watering, then went to spend the rest of the afternoon and early evaning with DD and her family. We had a bbq, watched the children play, then visited the old orchard that DD and her OH are clearing and renovating, which was lovely. Strange sort of day, but lots done.8

Thank you for my exemption!Today I am grateful for drying weather, for my apple tree having little fruitlings growing, for dh doing more towards replacing the fence post, for dc being proactive, for my first raspberry, for extra work, for time and space to simply be and let my mind wander.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

condolences @DawnW
I've had a lovely day. Started the day reading in bed with a cuppa tea. Then did a bit of cleaning. Then DD1 and I went on a day out - went to my fave place in the neighbouring county, had a picnic and a walk, drove home stopping off via a castle for another quick walk. Had to pay for parking but didn't spend anything else.
Gratitudes - lovely day with DD1, DD2 being happy on hols, nice text chats with friends

Hi alll sorry for delayed response and leaving a bit of a mystery trail. I went into town on Tuesdayon my bike to have coffee with a friend, fell on my bike got back up and contienued to go and have coffee. I biked home and felt a bit shattered. At dinner time I decided I was unable to cook dinner as my right arm was basically defunct and I went to a and e (not on my bike this time) had an x ray and worked out it was broken. No driving for 6 weeks. I will chose to see this as a welcome break!
Also my washing machine have broken down and I had an absolutely lovely afternoon with a couple of friends in my garden, and more people in gallery with my pictures elsewhere, so a mad and lively week, with lots of challenges and lots of lovelyness.

I did get outside, did some weeding and cutting back, mostly sitting on a chair and then worked my way along the raised bed, sitting on the cobble wall. standing on the raised bed (it's only 18" high) was a definite no no. That's good, I'm recognising what I can and can't do on any particular day, Know when I'm reaching my limit and switching tasks or resting. I have a partial solution for that side of the yard for this year (because I'm time and energy poor and there are repairs that need space/ access). Once I've cleared what I can, I will cover the raised bed with some wide plastic shelves (to keep the ivy/ Virginia creeper and brambles from spreading) and put large pots on top (or possibly 2 rows of smaller 10 l pots).
Used a bucket which had filled with rainwater to water all the herbs and Beloved had rescued my perennials by putting them in 2 small boxes and watering them. Cut all the sweet peas to encourage more flowers. I'm not a huge fan of purple but these were an old fashioned mixture and they're deep maroon purple, a lovely bluey lilac and a sharp pink and they smell gorgeous. Staked the rest with metal pieces.
Lots of rubbish/ recycling out to the bins and brought the two that were collected on Tuesday back to the house. Young neighbour offered to do them for me but I managed. Aching again so will continue in gentle fashion tomorrow.
Grateful for sweet peas, getting outside in the evening, thinking things through and coming up with solutions (that don't involve spending money), cutting some tasks from the to do list.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7
