That's serious walking - I wonder how many miles it is? I looked it up and guessed your height is 5'5" and the internet says it's nearly 64 miles.  :o

It's great you've found a nice dentist. I think that makes all the difference.

  • 72 miles! If it were me I’d be looking to solve the calorie problem by way of multiple chocolate bars per day, but that’s the sugar addition speaking 😂

Are you loosing weight whilst doing all these steps ?

for my DS d of E I made huge bags of trail mix, salted peanuts, choc peanuts and raisins, lots of mixed dried fruit which he had in his pocket and just nibbled on it.

  • I did work out that one day I could have had pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner and still had calories left over.
There are days when I’d run over a small child with the trolley for a mars bar @astrocytic_kitten
I have lost around 7kg in 6 weeks @dawnybabes. At this point I think my body is cannibalising itself.

My day off turned into a clean and tidy day with an added mystery shop. I logged on this morning and found a £30 job up so I grabbed it. Hopefully that will go through and keep me going until Friday when sister pays for childcare. As it is I am temporarily vegetarian as Quorn was cheaper than chicken. Although I could have gotten the frozen chicken breasts but they have sugar in them 🤦
I am making a giant stirfry with ys vegetables which will have to do me until some income is found. I am trying to improve my diet which is a challenge on so many levels.
  • I’m not sure improving your diet should be the first consideration right now, so much as getting enough calories in to stop your body consuming its own muscle as food should be.

You’re walking 3 marathons a week! And marathons come with lots of carb loading for easily accessed energy, as well as extra protein needed to build muscle etc. You could quite happily have mars bars while working and they’d all be used up as energy. I know there’s other reasons to eat well too - just don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good here, especially while you’re still adjusting to the extra activity.

(I say this as a huge hypocrite because I’m currently having food issues and the autism is making everything 10x harder and I’m sure someone from outside could see clearly what I need to do and it would still feel impossible to me. So I do get it’s not that simple)

Do you have any of the apps that pay you for your step count? Took me a while to think this far as I'm still reeling over the mileage and the one I have doesn't pay a great deal but you might as well get something for your efforts.

I think the pockets full of nuts & raisins etc mentioned by @dawnybabes is a really good idea, and milk-based drinks will help too. Once you are sufficiently solvent, you could fortify drinks with dried milk for extra calories as you might for someone on a high calorie diet.
