  • More and more I find myself dreaming of winning money on scratch cards. I have three sitting in my bag at the moment, unscratched just to keep the dream alive a little bit longer.
I like to imagine what I would do with various amounts.
If I won 10k I’d pay off my debts. I used to think I’d do something different. Like buy a campervan but I think now I feel debt holding me back more. Mostly because I have such limited capacity to work.
If I won 20k I’d pay off debt and maybe buy a small car. Or van. I am struggling with going places and it would give me money generation options as well.
If I won 100k… so far I haven’t managed to dream spend the whole amount. I could do all the above and pay off my mortgage but I’m not sure about that. it would be lovely to have a budget to do up the flat as I want to.
A girl can dream. In the meantime I shall go back to listening to podcast on starting when you’re not ready and finding a treatment plan for exhaustion.
  • Must not buy takeaway.
    Must not buy takeaway.
    Must not buy takeaway.

I have taken advantage of a nice day and come to the flat. Where I have promptly done all the things, none in order.
    I am now very tired.

Well done! Who cares about order, it is what you make it.

Did you get a rest? Did you buy a takeaway? Are you still doing art in any form?

No takeaways were harmed in the course of my day. Sadly.
I was a bit spasmodic in my flat activities but nonetheless things were done. Smashed up the old mantelpiece with a sledgehammer, very satisfying. Removed some of the old plasterboard from the wall, scraped some of the weeds off the path using the tool I sharpened last time. I did go to start in the back garden but stopped myself. The whole point was not to spend all day doing it and then burning out and not going back for ages.

Funnily enough I collected some art materials from the flat. I have been doodling. As well as copying some techniques.

came back and ended up playing with the boys all afternoon so am zonked.
  • Well done on not starting in the back garden. :) You still ended up zonked, but at least it wasn't ALL from the flat.

That was a full day. Interesting about carrying on with a job till it does you in, I'm similar. I blame it on change aversion and the power of continuing with whatever I've started. It's good you've managed to limit yourself and thus make more of yourself.

Smashing up the mantle sounds like fun! And nice that you have some art supplies out again. :)

An afternoon playing with toddlers would wear anyone out! Have a good day today.

  • It was a full day yesterday, full in a good way. Although I was frustrated by not being able to do any of 'my things' after the small people had gone to bed. But I suppose that is the nature of life really, I cannot expect to be able to do everythig, at the peak of my ability, all of the time.
That, is a lesson learned the hard way.
Today's plans for example were to go to the flat again for a short period and then out to potter about somewhere. This was in spite of knowing I am promised to the dentist for a check up at 9.15, an experience which generally sends me up the intensity scale. So it is not practical to think I am going to enjoy doing anything after it. Especially if I then have to make subsequent appointments. So instead I will get food shopping afterward, then go home for a planning day.

Know yourself, as they say. I hope the dentist is fine and after the shopping you get some useful planning done. A physically quiet day might be a plus, in that it will let your energy build up for the future.

  • It will surprise nobody that the dentist did not go well. One extraction and five fillings, with potential for root canal 🤦 At a potential cost of £188.32. With £150 added if root canal is needed. So I’ve gone away and had a ‘gentle’ which I tried very hard not to think of as wasted.
I will have to think of a way to pay for the dental work, it has to be done in multiple sessions anyway.
Was quite looking forward to going to work as at least there I know what I’m doing only to find that it was broken into last Friday night 🤦 Then two lads were smoking weed outside the door stinking up the place. !!!!!!.
Nothing too major but stuff I could have done without.
