I know you are pausing over options, but I'll lose track if I don't pop this down now: laundry can be easier if you do a load a day, occasionally two, depending on needs. I used to allocate a day for hot wash/whites, a day for red, a day for darks, a day for lights, maybe a day for delicates or handwash, I don't remember now.

Enjoy the meet-up with the former colleague.

  • Today was to be a holiday at home day however a certain small human was running a temp and couldn’t go to nursery. So now I have cuddles with a sleepy baba on the agenda.
My idea of a holiday day mostly involved ordering takeaway coffee and cinnamon bun 🤷 I saved myself the faff of putting extra stuff in my basket that I didn’t want to make up the order and just made a cafetière coffee. Ate a peppermint slice I had in the fridge.
oh the maturity of it all.

    I'm impressed. :)

And if it's as grey where you are as it is here, indoors and snuggling is a good way to use the day.

  • Greetings from the big smoke. Aka Edinburgh.
I have pootled around this morning. Sister was going to a course and took me along for the ride. I ate my breakfast with a view of the castle and wandered around the art/design section of the museum.
I scared myself with an £18 pret bill for lunch🤦 I was determined to eat all of it, including the bit of tongue that got nipped trying to eat leaves. But as I am not a giraffe the sheer amount of leaves defeated me. I am now cured, however, of my Pret habit.
It is a short visit, just right for testing the travel waters. I’m away to get the bus home now where I have three hours to contemplate my favourite problems. Or nap.
  • Glad the new job is going well. I really love Edinburgh, not been since pre covid but it is a fabulous city full of fabulous people.
    Pret is lovely but £18!!

I would accept the extra cash from your sister as well.

I have new adventures and experiences from winning things...so it is cheap too!  It is worth looking on instagram for local restaurants /places/theatre who often  run comps. plus you can always google comps. MSE also have a free comps listings. Its a fun hobby especially if you stuck in bed being exhausted. Trick is to keep applying for comps, its a numbers game. Also if you win prizes you dint like eg runner up prizes  they can be resold or kept for gifts if they not your thing.
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

  • Seeing as I currently can’t go the five feet to the shower I may be taking that idea up LaPlan.

Little Bulldog has developed a lurgy, cue cancelled birthday party and doctor visit. Poor wee man now on antibiotics.
I am very burnt out though and feeling quite resentful of everything and everyone. The problem with asd is that demands to me are normal life to everyone else. And so there is little to no outlet when I’m struggling.
I am still working on setting boundaries.
  • Hope you're having a restful day. It's been a busy time with lots of demands and uncertainties, no wonder you're feeling knackered and grumpy.
Would time at your place having some solitude be a good idea for a wee bit?
  • Ohh poor Little Bulldog.
There has been lots going on of late. Burnt out and generally knackered is how I felt before I escaped to a place with no people or demands. I think you need some alone time to regenerate
Have 2 teabags in one cup of tea today.

Sorry to hear it's tough. Childcare is demanding, and I'd imagine sharing a house is too. Do you give yourself a day or so off every week? And could it be that your body is fighting off the lurgy too? Sometimes I feel the effects of fighting something off before I feel unwell.

Here's to some R&R for you.
