I'm glad the start of your new job went well.
I get what you mean about needing some fixed points. It's why I work - that and the very useful money. I'm also trying to use free college courses to help with that where available. Personally I wouldn't do nights as they would take me too long to recover from - but only you know what fits with your body clock. Could you get regular hours in a shop somewhere or an equivalent?
Glad Teacup was able to help you out. You have done a lot for them so don't feel bad about accepting help in return.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

A fixed point is a rule you’re following either consciously or unconsciously Cherry. It might be something concrete like a schedule or an abstract rule like you buy things on the way home. Mine was being available to help out with the boys.I have gotten fairly fatigued again, napped a bit yesterday afternoon. I’ll have to keep the physical activity to a minimum during the week or Ill be too tired for work. That being said, I am currently at a trampoline park and it was soft play yesterday.I think my fixed point will be work SH, it is easier to arrange my day around evening shifts. I suspect you’re right about nights- I could probably do them if I wasn’t already so fatigued.
I have been thinking about what to do about the debt and general lack of money situation. I’m slowly working it out but the train is not stopping at any stations just yet.2 -

It's frustrating when you are too tired to do things. I was like that for a long time post-Covid: not as badly as many people, thankfully, but enough to affect me. It's so nice being past that point but I know it's a very limiting thing.
Afternoon naps really work for me.

Have taken to my bed like a heroine in a Victorian novel. It was 7.51 by the time I unearthed myself from my weighted blanket this morning. Three cups of tea later and I am no closer to body parts working without the vague creakings of rusty machinery.
Talking is an interesting experience today, I'm just about ok to croak instruction at the Google Hub.
Used Whatsapp online so I didn't have to get out of bed.
It's quite frustrating as I don't really want to be resting but have little mental or physical power to progress with any of my projects. I'm having a little bit of what I like to call the pre rest sulks. I'm not going to do anything because I can't do what I want to do.1 -
If you need a sulk and a rest then you need a sulk and a rest- though my autocorrect tried to say you need a Harvey's so maybe have a beer too, autocorrect knows best 😁3

You have my sympathies: my version of it is staying up to stupid o'clock if I have something I don't want to do the next day or soon after. The last few days I've been wathicng myself as if it were someone else: late to bed and slow to rise. Some of it is probably common to everyone, though I did once work with someone who did the worst job first rather than have it hang over her. Years later that sticks with me because it had never occured to me that people could do that, though it's probably top of lots of people's list of suggestions.
Duvet days or equivalent have their uses, of course: physical rest is needed because it's been hard work keeping going with other people's timetables and expectations, and it probably helps our self-awareness, even if it doesn't solve the problem. In my case, it also gets all sorts of other jobs done because I would rather do almost any wearisome task rather than the thing I'm avoiding, and then at least I have something to show for it.
PIP's idea may help.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

If it makes you feel better, I am spending far too much time in my room chilling in bed to avoid my housemate at present. You have my sympathies.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

Small One has no respect for bed days. I got til the afternoon before I was summoned. Made play dough and built block towers.Thankfully dinner time meant I could close the door and hang out by myself again.I am currently being used as furniture so he can watch videos 🤷
Rest begins in earnest tomorrow. The big people will be at work while the small people are at nursery. At some point today I plan to do a review. I’m doing a little personal development each day- trying to embody this quote:
A small daily task, if it be really daily, will beat the labours of a spasmodic Hercules.3 -
Notice has been semi officially handed in to the care job. I’d like to pretend I was brave enough to do it unprompted- I even bribed myself with scratch cards- but I did get an email asking when I was booking a shift 🤷
So that is done. And I do feel lighter. Mostly.
Cleaning job is going well in its second week. They are a nice bunch and don’t put me on edge like the people at my last job. It’s physical work so I’m treating it as my exercise.Spent the day actually making progress on my organising system and thus actually taking some of the pressure off.2
