Technically I hold down two jobs I suppose, I get paid for looking after my nephew.
Funnily enough I had a future self thought this evening at work. I debated not moving a bin to hoover behind it, then did it because Tuesday me would just have to clean more🤷

I'm better at future self thinking at work. There I'll do something thorough when I can if it's nearly due and I can. At home I'm terrible about it. 🤣Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

I do think future self thinking is easier when there is a definite outcome. Home options can be infinite2

At work, there's often a limit to the expectations on your role: file these papers, add up these numbers, clean this area etc. At home nobody has a job description! So perhaps the way to tackle it at home might be to identify a job or so and work it out in those terms, or notice what things trip you up and target those?
Examples for me would be labelling things that go in the freezer, adding finished items to the shopping list if I'm likely to want the same again, having uniform ready to grab and go, keeping my keys in the same place all the time. I don't manage them all, all the time, but it helps when I do.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I’m not in my own home so I’m reluctant to start patterns I can’t use elsewhere. I do have those exact things where I can squish them in- my uniform and keys hang in one place. Otherwise I just wouldn’t remember them.
I’ve just finished the Lazy Genius Way which was very good. Cherry you might like it- she is a practicing Christian. The mentions of God etc are not overpowering and could also be interpreted in your own spiritual vein. I may even break my no podcast rule and listen to hers.
Have experienced a session of stress vomiting so am back on the gaviscon until my stomach settles. Annoyingly it has been over the holiday weekend. Plus LB has been sick so all in all not the break I thought it would be.
I am slowly coming to understand how i do things. I went to my flat today and putted around. It was hard to do anything much without unsettling the stomach but I got the important bits out of the way3 -
I can see it could be much more difficult to create patterns when you're in someone else's place. I am just the same as you with uniform though. It has to hang behind a certain door with my lanyard or I can be sure I will be running late and unable to find something.
I had to look up the Lazy Genius as I'd not come across her. There's a website!
I'm sorry you were stressed, it sounds miserable. Well done on getting the important bits done though. The rest can wait till you are ready. I hope you and LB both feel better soon.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Nothing like starting your day by making a Polish man scratch his head and wonder at you.
Said Polish man (I wouldn’t usually describe someone by their nationality but somehow this man seems to embody it) was the joiner that works with a local third sector organisation. Found myself impressed by his ability to tut and smile at the same time.
From the number of tut-smiles I am guessing I will not be able to afford any of the options even the one he described as budget.2 -
You can always go for a second opinion? This chap seems to have the non-verbal communication down to a fine art, though!
Did you like any of the options he described?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

No sign of a quote yet but he did say he was going to look at prices. He is a very nice man though I don’t need to worry about him ripping me off. I do think that is an advantage of using someone attached to a third sector organisation.2
