Oh no @WelshmansDaughter, you could really have done without all that. Is it the sort of treatment where a second opinion might be worth having? Of course if you're in pain it might be best just to go for it and pay as and when you can. For what it's worth, having heard things about root canal fillings, I had one and it was the kindest piece of treatment ever. I could have nodded off as he worked - and ten years later the work holds good.
Having a work place that you can go into as a bit of an escape has to be a good thing. Did you manage to work in the end?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Oh what palavers, definitely a gentle day needed.
Well done for being brave and getting the dentist situation known. Your future self will very much thank you for getting it sorted! What's the plan for getting the £188.32 and £150?1 -
Lol PiP thinking I have a plan. Unless scratchcards count.Woke up today in what I would describe as a panic. I had thought that I might take my bike in for a service but with no idea of what it might cost I have decided to wait.I am on the train to a local town where I have a mystery shop booked. It should pay £25 so minus £6.50 for train it is still worthwhile.3

Mystery shop passed. Did end up eating an alarming amount of bread as I had to order in a cafe. Was trying to keep the order around the reimbursement fee.LB home sick so he’ll be with me tomorrow.
Got a reasonable amount done today and have been to asda for a shop . I’m going to try a cheap pasta meal to see if my stomach can tolerate it.Theres a new grand designs so its home now to watch with a bounty bar.3 -
Does your dentist do repayment plans if you put both treatments on it? Not ideal but would give you some breathing space.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
*Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
*Natwest - £1828.35 -£0.00
Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00
Creation Finance - £960.32 £840
*Total debt - £8040/£11641.17*
Savings
*Savings Buffer - £100/£1500
*Emergency Fund - £1500/£1500

I'm not sure if they do, I haven't booked any of the treatment yet. Hopefully I have time to get something sorted. I did email the hospital to ask if they were taking on patients (it's free as the work is done by student dentists) but they're not taking anybody on.
Today is a frustrating day. I have the baby because he is sick and I'm just not really in the mood. It was alright earlier but now the weather has gotten hot, I forgot to eat and didn't drink sufficient cool liquid. I wanted to get things done today and I'm limited to what can be done from here.
So in the interest of doing things in the simplest way possible, I've arranged for the bike service guy to come pick up my bike and take it away for servicing. This is in spite of me having a halfords cycle care plan. In an ideal world I would have put the bike on the train and taken it to halfords but was that going to happen? Em no. I did think about it yesterday and luckily I didn't because the train I ended up taking was an intercity that required reservations. I need to get it done, not done 'right'. With the bike in good working order I can go out and do deliveries. The school holidays are coming up so I can go out without having to worry about overdoing it. I have been worried about doing deliveries again, especially without an electric bike but it's not the same as it was with covid. I can stop and rest and access toilets etc much easier.2 -
Sometimes getting a blasted thing done so you can get on with other things is the best mse choice you can make, well done for sorting it and investing in your future earning opportunities2
