  • I’ve been very domesticated. That home comforts book is rubbing off on me.
Made cookies yesterday, packed and tidied today and I’m about to hoover.
My inner domestic slattern won’t know what hit her.

Glad to hear you have been battling with your inner domestic slattern and winning - mine is very triumphant at present as I have been away from home for 5 weeks bar a 4 day dump clothes/wash/repack so when I head home next week it will be a few days of cleaning /tidying

Good you getting some shifts in - be kind to yourself
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

  • I enjoyed the use of the word slattern most of all. Don’t get that in every day.

Holiday has gotten off to a swinging start. Sister act is thoroughly overwhelmed and getting the wrong caravan tipped her over the edge. Thankfully insisted on own caravan and so after helping out until the boys went to bed escaped out for a walk.
In a lovely wild part of Scotland and will hopefully get to enjoy a week here 😂

Getting your own caravan is obviously essential! I expect small one will want to share, though.

    Have a wonderful time.

Love cube packing. It is so satisfying  :)
    Caravan to yourself sounds blissful

  • I am no longer top of small ones list. He is very much a daddy’s boy, much to daddy’s despair.
Although he was a surprise visitor this morning while I was still having tea. Teacup took him as LB was napping. She doesn’t like to take him by herself 😜
I’ve been offered more hours cleaning bringing it up to 15. I’ve accepted it as they’ve said the hours can be worked flexibly.

That's very handy about the extra hours!

Hope your holiday is nice and relaxing. :)

  • It’s lunchtime on holidays and I’m gently nodding off. I could go and do things but I’ve been catching up on LWAPs diary and I’m exhausted just from thinking about doing all that stuff. And contemplating buying a sewing course. This forum is costing me money lol.
Swimming this morning which was fun. Little Bulldog enjoyed himself this time instead of screaming the pool down.
The caravan is conveniently located beside the crepe/ice cream place which has no opening hours so I may stir myself enough to investigate.
    Or not.

    Bestirred myself eventually.
Lazy holiday vibes wafting your way, Cherry. Although I’m not sure lazy is involved. We have 8am in the playground vibes.
Hard to believe we go home tomorrow.
Teacup had an unfortunate encounter with a speed bump and now has a scraped hand and knee. Wouldn’t be a family holiday without her going a**e up over a perfectly avoidable obstacle.
2nd breakfast was had in a lovely garden centre and I realised you could get twinings herbal tea in pick n mix. Had I known this earlier could have saved myself a lot of cupboard space.
Been doing some thinking and reading while away. Bits and pieces are coming together slowly. Everything has been paid for on this trip and teacup has randomly been giving me £20 notes. Which has been nice from a perspective of feeling looked after but at the same time it would have been nice to be able to contribute. And not feel as obligated/ in more of an equal footing with everyone else. I also didn’t want to rock the boat as I was essentially freeloading. So that’s one foundation stone in the why I want to have my own money bucket.
