I'm glad they paid for it! And that you didn't add walking through a dodgy bit to the adventure. What a palaver, tea in bath sounds like a very nice thing though

It all worked out in the end - and I sympathise about the not knocking on the door. I'd forgotten till you said, but I locked myself out while helping at church recently and was proud of myself for having my phone on me and ringing them to let me in, so I said thank you, and waited... and after a bit rang them back and they'd all been looking for me in the basement because I'd forgotten to say I was outside the front door.
I hope the hotel bed was comfy and you got a good night's sleep, and the swept chimney is a credit to you.
My tip for clearing the garden would be to focus on edges: neat edges make quite a difference if you don't think you have time to do it all, as do swept paths and maybe a focal point of bright flowers. Of course the weeds are still there but you have your imprint on it. Ask me how I know.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

It’s only Wednesday and I’m zonked already. I don’t even follow a traditional week calendar.
my adventures at the hotel are a distant memory lol.Bought my brother in law a whiskey miniature as I felt bad for scaring him.
I say garden Cherry I really mean outdoor dumping ground. I think if I arrange for my neighbour to trim the hedge then I’ll focus on the rubbish removal and weed cutting down. I won’t be doing any major planting this year except perhaps November’s bulbs. It would be good to get some underlying structure in though as well as the utility areas.4 -
Yesterday’s bizarre weather has confused my options for today. Went out for Little Bulldogs nap walk in the afternoon and a hailstorm appeared on the way back.
I booked a shift with another late start for this evening so it is what to do until then that is in question. Small One has a birthday this weekend so there may be preparations. Sister Act has been busy getting jobs done before maternity leave ends so may need assistance/baby watching. Or a trip to my own flat and an appointment with a strimmer.Oh the luxury of choice.4 -
Good luck with the weather! It's been very changeable here. Just keep at it with the strimmer, you'll get there.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Good luck with the strimmer!

19250 steps today. And I am hoping the guy who has chips gets off the bus toute suite or he may be mugged for them.
Started out at the flat as LB has music class on Thursdays which I always forget.Police van pulls up just as I get started and goes upstairs. Lovely. Nobody there but arranged with neighbour for him to cut hedge and he tells me there was dodgy goings on last week so who knows. This is Further Incentive to make outside tidy as home comforts book tells me that once one person leaves a mess other ppl start to feel it is ok.Sawing and strimming done. Play stopped by hailstorm and fatigue.Off to work via coffee shop only for it to be non stop. Shenanigans were afoot. Still looks like daylight here. And now home to bed.2 -
No jury would convict if you scoffed a man's chips on the bus.
Amazing steps and brilliant that neighbour will cut the grass. I'm really interested in the 'broken windows' theory, it was apparently disproved in one study but I think the concept is proper true, personally (what with being a random individual and not any actual scientific trial 😂) (still think I'm right though 😁)2 -
Ah that was the name of it. She did say it in the book but couldn’t remember it.
I believe I am technically running a broken windows experiment. We shall see who rents the flats upstairs once I have tidied it all.
I did attempt to work my wiles on a car full of Indian gentlemen who were coming to view. Realised afterward I looked like a scarecrow in my garden tidying apparel.
The scent of chips is still in my nose. Toast has been had. Not locked out tonight but legs may be in a state of shock after so much movement3
