  • Maslow defined the categories of needs so pain would be classed as a physiological need. The needs all relate to each other so PiPs Maslow
    physiological- lack of collagen
    safety- family, body working
love- mum, mr PiP, cats, a bargain
esteem- understanding of self with condition
self actualisation- mix of all above
  • Have woken up feeling gritty after an ‘interesting’ night’s sleep. I would like to blame the food I ate but I think it is more likely to be not winding myself down in the evening. I find myself convinced of the need for a swing of some sort. I use the one in the playground when it is sans children. The physical jitters wait on nobody’s convenience.
I had to use a discount code before 4th June and so was spurred into borrowing from Teacup. I think we will pick up the bed frame today and drop it off at the flat. I haven’t planned for putting it together yet.
My thoughts are to do a phased return to the flat.

That's so sweet of you to outline mine, I love the inclusion of bargains 😂 I was being bratty at Maslow and I apologise.
Good for you for having a go on the swings when you feel to, I occasionally nip into a park for a quick swing if I pass and no-one's around! Hope the bed frame collecting goes smoothly. It'll hopefully help a lot with your transition to the flat to build a space where you enjoy sleeping and resting first

I love a go on the swings given the chance
I hope the bed is as expected.
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

  • Cinnamon bun has been had (evil eyes at Cherry for being a Bad Influence).
    Wine has been had.
    I regret nothing.

Bed collected and left in flat. While I was there realised that I could take my notebooks back to Sisters with me as they were already sorted into a box. This is a rather useful addition to my Thinking About Life project. And a handy tidying project before bed. Albeit a musty one.
Part of me wants to go and part wants to stay. I do think being by myself in the flat might still be a bit overwhelming and I might try and focus on that rather than stabilising my finances.
These days I do have handy small children as a front for my playground visiting.
  • Just popped in after a break. Well done on the job, especially on a challenging day. I hope you manage to find your balance, even if you need to schedule life to make it work.

I too am a lover of swings. My friend showed me some in Sheffield at the top of a hill once, and they were my favourite ever.

Came yesterday to sort out the bit in front of the chimney ready for the sweep to come Wednesday. Luckily I did as he had to switch to today. This also gave me the excuse to try going into work later than the scheduled start time which is good.
Decided to remove the mantelpiece yesterday which turned out to be plaster not wood so that’s been hefted out to the garden awaiting a tip run.
Today seems like a sit in the outdoors thinking and reading sort of day so that’s where I am.

How does it work out going in later? Are they okay with that, and do you then work later? It's always worth looking into seeing if an employer can adapt timings if the schedule is hard on you. Obviously they will want to have enough staff on shift, but it could count as a reasonable adaptation if, for instance, your find change easier as the day goes on (I do).

Do you have an open fire at the flat then? We had one (which we eventually replaced with a wood burning stove) - they are so cosy.

  • When I bought the flat there was a broken gas fire. I had it removed and the gas capped. Since then nothing was done with the chimney so I’m getting it a long overdue clean. If I could afford it I’d get a tiny range put it but that’s a while off.
I’m not sure about scheduling changes I’m going to ask before I book any more Sundays though
  • An adventure has been had.
Chimney was swept yesterday, man turned up an hour early in the end. When I got to the flat I really didn't feel the doing anything vibe. Sat in a chair for a while then pootled about until the landlord from upstairs turned up. He was unhappy about the garden being so untidy as he is having trouble renting the flat (nothing of course to do with the fact he is a slumlord and doesn't take care of the property). He does have a point as the weeds are 3 feet high. Everything grows so fast at this time of year. I told him it would be done this week so we shall see how that goes. I did one tip run on yesterday and was so flapped out that I had to get fish and chips for lunch. Ahem.
Pootled off to work and all went as it should until I got home to sister's house and the key wouldn't turn in the lock. Many phone calls to both sister and bro in law were to no avail. rang doorbell twice. Pondered taxi to my own place only to try 3 firms to be told they were all busy. Ended up ringing the hotel at the end of their road and booking in there. The receptionist said there was something on at the events centre and all the taxis were at that. So 85 quid later I was in bed after midnight.
It was only after the duvet went up that I realised I could have knocked on the door. D'oh. Or gotten the car share car and driven to my house not that it would have been that much cheaper. And would have involved a walk through a dodgy bit.
Went to bed and woke up feeling like a bit of an adventure was had. Had my morning cuppa in the bath and then wandered back to a sheepish sister and brother in law. Poor man jumped out of his bed at 5am thinking I'd been stuck in the garden all night. They paid for it- didn't really want to let them as I do stay in their house rent free but no choice this month if I wanted to pay chimney man.
Some money lessons do seem to be sinking in. I'm getting enough pieces of the puzzle to put things together more.
Autism lesson learned- I feel everything intensely including boredom. Need to make sure I include more variety.
