Thinking of you today, hope the day is as decent as can be. Good luck with the interview2

Thanks DiA. I am not sure about the exercise. Haven't really felt the physical effects of it. Perhaps the bar for that one is higher as I used to cycle so much when delivering albeit on an electric bike.
Thanks for remembering PiP. I am less grateful for the Picpoul recommendation. I was catching up on your diary and it caught my attention. Now I have two wine drinking days this week.
Interview went better than previous ones. I didn't cry or waffle on for hours. However a spanner was thrown in the works. I applied for relief work but it turns out they look for people to cover entire weeks which I can't do as I am committed to the boys Thursday and Friday. They did say there was a permanent job at a school, M to F, 6-8 pm they could consider me for. I'm torn. I had thought about flexible work and not really thought about regular work. Maybe as a temporary measure?
Yesterday was ok. After the interview, sister and I went for a walk at the beach then I looked after Little Bulldog while she went to the dentist. We've been going for a walk by the river in the afternoons anyway, saw ten little ducklings the day before yesterday. A glass of red was had in honour of Dad. Then we watched Scotlands Home of the Year.
Very prosaic day in the end. I had my own little memorial after I went to bed. Listened to his music and looked at pictures.
Will hopefully try to progress a little bit more on life strategizing today. Have LB in the morning who is apparently cranky.

That sounds like a nice day to remember your dad. Well done on the interview. 6-8pm sounds good if you don't mind working in the evenings, might as well give it a go and see if it suits you. No apologies for the picpoul recommendation 😁3

I see your picpoul recommendation and raise you Wolf Blass Chardonnay Semillon PiP.
supposed to hear from interview today but haven’t. That’s the decision made then lol.Out for a walk with sister and the wee ones, saw a deer, baby swans and a horse. Knackered from wrangling Small One. I do enjoy his love of puddles though.
Work wise am just psyching myself up to book shifts at the weekend. Am unmotivated, shall blame the picpoul.
currently watching a video of snails it’s very restful3 -
Good luck with the shift booking.
Small ones adore puddles. Their joy is infectious.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Ooh getting extra fancy are we 😁
Job processes always take longer than they say, annoying and rude, but don't take it as meaning anything personal regardless of outcome
Hey, don't blame the lovely picpoul 😂
Just book one shift and do it then book another etc if you're able to do that? Or are you obliged to book multiple a certain amount in advance?
I'm a big fan of snails, very cool creatures. Bit of a pain if you're a gardener but we all gotta eat!2 -
I first tried wolf blass at a work Xmas do PiP. It’s those free events that sucker you into having expensive tastes.
I can book as many shifts as I like. I have to request to cancel them so I am more hesitant to book because of that.
It’s been a rollercoaster week, quite exhausting. I’m a bit overloaded when it comes to thinking about anything but especially work.
I keep forgetting to take time out from what I’m doing. And I’m probably in dire need of alone time.I’m also conflicted as the shift work is paid a month in arrears but I’m in need of money to meet this months expenses. Writing that has clarified my priorities somewhat.
hopefully will get a good night sleep tonight, have fun with boys tomorrow and get some time to myself this weekend.3 -
Just catching up. Well done on getting though the interview and remembering your Dad, though I expect you remember him every day.
6-8 would work for me: the downside is missing having meals with people, but it's steady hours and would give you plenty of other time for other things, while still being a structure. If it's something you think you might consider, quite a lot of school cleaners seem to work for a couple of hours after the end of the school day - though obviously that might not work with your regular hours of looking after the little ones. However, you could ask if job shares are considered.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I have started cleaning and sorting in my sister's house which is definitely a sign that it is Time To Leave.
She has a walk in closet in the room I stay in which wasn't built properly and hasn't been ventilated. I did enjoy it, it was a long period of time in a nice flow state.
I am now exhausted though and not in a doing much frame of mind. It's pretty rainy here and I'm still in my pyjamas.
I've been playing with Small One this morning and then sorting through my financial life. It is bloody difficult, it just seems like so many bits and pieces. But then the whole point of this exercise is to gather everything together into a cohesive narrative.
In other news, I got offered the job as a school cleaner. It will be two hours a day, five days a week. I've been sent emails and will hopefully recharge enough to go through them all.2
