Sorry to hear about the tooth. It's a small consolation that nothing further can go wrong once it's gone, but you must have felt dire.
It's nice you got a free bed and mattress. Will you be able to take the bed to bits to move it or are you going to leave it?
Focussing on one or two nice projects is a great idea. After all, you deserve nice stuff around you, and it will lift your mood to see them completed.
Hope the shifts go okay and the lightening and boils don't materialise.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Enjoyment projects sounds like a great idea.
I am due to have a tooth out next week and you've scared me now!If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Well done for getting the dental work done. I struggle with phobias in that area too although my dentist is kind and jokey.
Good news on the free bed and neighbourly support.
Good luck with your home projects and your attempts to increase your income without some catastrophe befalling you.
Well done on being a good sister and a good friend.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

The dentist was a necessary evil but no need to worry DIA- I was just being an almighty wuss. My tolerance is low these days as I've been ill so often. I've decided to record my visits (somewhere) so I have a tracker to know when I need to visit again. I had to cancel the appointment for this week as my mouth was not yet healed. So in the future there will be an appointment for fillings and then regular checkups. Ideally there will be restorative work in there as well but I am not sure if I want the practice I am currently registered at to do it.
Recovery day after two days working. Mild annoyance on Monday night after the bus decided not to show up at 22:39 and the next one at 23:09 didn't go all the way to my sister's area. I had to get off along the route and pay for a taxi the rest of the way. I've sent a complaint email but mostly just to highlight it as a safety concern- had I not had money for a taxi I would be walking 2 miles at midnight. I did not get the bus last night for obvious reasons and took the train instead.
I'll be back at work tomorrow for a shift then will have to book next weeks. Haven't really cemented an ideal schedule yet, still in the experimental phase. Will have to figure out an alternative source of income this month as I have already run out. I do have an interview scheduled for the 21st for a relief cleaner role. Annoyingly the only date they had was the 21st which is the first anniversary of Dad's death. Not ideal. I've booked the first one of the day to get it done and then I can focus on my memories of Dad.

I'm sorry your interview is on the anniversary of your Dad's passing. It's good that you can have the rest of the day to remember him, though.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

It is what it is. At least I will be distracted and not throwing my whole mind into the interview.
Have spent the day on and off with the wee ones as their Dad is a bit sick. Knackered.
I'm looking for a bed frame now as Teacup will be visiting next week and she will need the guestroom.

Didn't sleep all too well and so a tad on the spacey side.
Real life people are questioning why I can't just buy a bed frame. If I'm honest I'm not entirely sure why. I guess it kind of feels like I have to get going on that life pattern and I still just want to rest more. And do the background planning instead of pitchforking myself back into what will be a more overwhelming version of life.
Decision making is easier when I'm here and not trying to live in the flat. I take more breaks and get more meaningful stuff done.
What I'm working on at the moment is a way I can live in the flat, spend time doing therapeutic and rejuvenating activities, bring in income from job and also do the creative and strategic life work that I want to do.2 -
Are you at your sister's at the moment? I know I regulate myself better when I'm at home than I did when I was sorting out the house my parents left, because when I was left to my own devices, there was nothing to do but work or go for walks. At home there's DH and my leisure things so balance is easier.
Re buying the bed frame (or not), I'd imagine it's easy to get overwhelmed and if that's the case, set yourself a price and a basic specification then google. If you see anything you like, just get it - it doesn't have to be part of your life forever. If it helps to post a couple pf pictures here for feedback, I'm sure people will oblige.
Once you have the bed frame (and your guest has gone), rest will be easier.
