Not sure I'd be ok sleeping in a jungle room. But then I definitely lean more toward the minimalist side of things. I did thing some sort of geometric pattern would be good.
I have been mostly in Auntie Mode today as the Small One doesn't go to nursery on a Friday. We went to Soft Play this morning which part of me really likes- I love the crawling around etc but man it was crowded. And I made a little Aspie friend who I felt quite sorry for as he was little old man style and stuck out a bit.
I feel like I've reached the point now where I'm a bit stuck on the flat and need to go out and earn some money. To that end I have acquired a lease on an EAPC style bike. The plan is to do deliveries again and hopefully this style of bike is a bit more vestibular friendly and comfortable to ride for long periods. Also on a purely practical note- it makes transport to various places easier.
Think it might be time for some light entertainment. A whole day with the Small One takes it out of me.1 -
The slug tracks on the wall, highlighted when I washed them. Was that the type of pattern you were thinking of Cranky? 🤣🤣🤣

I didn't think slugs normally went up, more like snails. Salt!

I spotted a slug climbing the wall outside my front door this week so they definitely go up too.

It's just been pointed out to me (see my thread) that I may be able to get NI credits for child care. Would that be worth looking into for you?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

My house is quite frankly a snail/slug hotel at this point. I seem to have developed the perfect habitat for insects that don't prey on each other.
I don't actually look after the Small One in that sense Cherry, it's more Auntie/Nephew outings. But I have made a note of it in case that changes.
There was no outing on the bus today as there was a bbq at the Small One's nursery. I had imagined that it would be just a handful of people so I got a bit of a shock when we turned up and it was packed. Small One was not impressed that they wouldn't let him inside to play with his cars. He did manage to find a wheelbarrow and a bulldozer, his eye for these things is impressive.
The rest of the afternoon was spent trying to make a floor plan and mangling my brain in the process. I knew what I wanted to do but I just couldn't get it out. Eventually jacked it in and watched a documentary called Portrait of the Garden which was very soothing.

Small One is in a fabulous mood having been taken not once but twice to see the airplanes and helicopters.
I have become a planespotter.
Small One was so determined to get out the door Auntie left with just a phone and a key.
At one point he wound up wearing my jumper 🤦♀️
These excursions get expensive. By mid morning I am in dire need of second breakfast and of course one has to feed the child also. Slash bribe him with crisps to get him off the train platform.
But it is surprisingly enjoyable when it is just the two of us.
Today has been bittersweet as I kept thinking of things I wanted to tell Dad. He would have been chuffed at the plane spotting, when he was young he went train spotting.
Between hormones and the Small One I am fit for nothing today. Discovered the Art of the Architecture so watching that and tomorrow is planned as a day off.

It's good you are getting out and about.
Could you write the things you'd like to tell your Dad in a journal and start them as if they were a series of letters?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
