The Small One has taken against me it seems. This may be a blessing in disguise as I think I was perhaps getting a little too involved. Easier to hang around playing the role of Auntie than it is to get on with my own life.
The Great Thicket Massacre took place this morning. I got a tad carried away with the power saw and over vibrated myself. And the saw as I managed to get the cord stuck in it. Fuel in the form of a Greggs bacon and egg roll wasn't enough to keep me going after that so off I went to the library. All 1.3 miles became an epic journey as I lugged a bag of generously proportioned books back. I promised myself I was only going to get the one waiting for me but this was a lie.
The way back to the bus stop is uphill.
I somehow managed to get on the wrong bus home which then turned into a trip to another library which turned into a trip past an architectural designer's office and then McDonalds. And Lidl. I am now the possessor of information, calories and a bigger backpack that doesn't have a hole in it.
Tea and another episode of The Art of the Garden plus Small One rejection have not revived me. I may have to Organise My New Bag.1 -
Power cord stuck in a saw sounds a dangerous combination... Please be careful.
Love the sound of your new backpack. Enjoy organising.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I can't keep up with you!
DGD was under the weather this weekend so she was quiet but she's not a boisterous child. The other children at the wedding were adorable but both little boys and kept their parents very occupied. Stereotype or not, boys seem to take more energy.
I'm impressed with progress on the thicket!
I'm in Wales for a few days and thought of your Dad... have you been to Wales? I've spent time in the north and centre, this is the first time I've been to the south and it's gorgeous where we're staying.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

I have indeed been to Wales. My Dad is from North Wales near Llangollen. We visited my Taid up until his death when I was 6. My uncle still lives there. I took a somewhat bemused Canadian friend on the horse drawn canal boat in Llangollen a few years ago, not sure she knew what to make of it.
Yes I did think I had passed the point at which I should be using a saw- this is the danger of power tools. I get so far that I want to keep going then end up feeling concussed from the vibration. I have asked for recommendations on where to go to get it fixed.2 -
