I’m late again too 🙄. Lots of bits left from last week but needed lots of basics so still a bigger shop than I hoped…so starting from last night:
Sat - fennel seed crusted pork fillet, asparagus, new potatoes and salad (pork and asparagus were bbq’d 😋)
Sun - halloumi, asparagus and new potato traybake, salad
Mon - feta, pea and spinach orzo
Tues - beans on toast
Wed - chicken and pepper egg fried rice
Thurs - sausage and spinach gnocchi
Fri - tuna steak nicoise3 -

Plans went somewhat awry last week but all fresh bits that need used were.

Wed - Pan fried turkey steakI made a couple of changes this past week, the fishmonger finally got some herring in so I ditched the smoked haddock and had herring coated in oatmeal with new potatoes and peas. Its also been a while since I did a SC “rubber chicken” and enjoyed it so much I had it Sun & Mon, the rest has been portioned up and frozen as well as some stock from the bones.
I need to use up freezer stock so this week is going to look like a rinse and repeat
Thurs - Tomato & feta quiche, salad & roasted tomatoes
Fri - Crusty baguette pizza - salami, sauce and cheese in freezer
Sat - Chicken curry, rice (freezer)
Sun - Moussaka (freezer)
Mon - Pasta with arrabiata sauce, garlic bread & veg
Tues - Turkey meatballs (freezer)
Wed - Pork chop in pizzaiola sauce (freezer)Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £113.015 -
Game casserole, new potatoes, broccoli, sugar snap peas
Vegetable risotto

fish curry, naan, spicy stir fried green beans, and whatever other veg needs using up x24 -
Awake ridiculously early so have finished my plan and shopping list. Will go to Lidl fairly early before it gets warm and busy…
Sat - bbq’d halloumi and courgette, new potatoes and salad
Sun - smoky prawn and chorizo rice
Mon - pasta puttanesca, salad/green beans
Tues - beans on toast
Wed - Indian chickpeas with poached eggs
Thurs - tuna steak nicoise salad
Fri - chorizo and butter bean stew4 -
This week's offerings:
Sat - Seafood platter, lemon cream cups
Sun - Cooked gammon slices (from freezer), runner beans, carrots, potatoes
Mon - Salad, salmon or pilchard? Will decide on the day.
Tue - SC liver, bacon & onion casserole, carrots & swede, mash
Wed - Scampi, fried potato slices (ie left overs from Sunday), side salad
Thu - Spag bol, need to make the sauce and will throw in some grated carrot, chopped mushrooms and orange pepper
Fri - Some kind of fish meal, dependent on what the SM has
Today I've made a SC rice pudding that we can for afters during the week with whatever fruit is left or a dollop of jam/lemon curd plus a tub of hummus. Since I'm short of eggs, I've saved the chickpea water to use tomorrow in a carrot cake.Be kind to others and to yourself too.5 -

Only one swap during the week - turkey meatballs was the plan for Tues but I had a craving for some beef and opted for my local butchers beef olives instead did them in the SC with a luscious gravy, one for me one for the freezer, yum!!
Thurs - Vegetable & black bean fajitas
Fri - Pesto crusted salmon, new pots, sugar snap peas
Sat - Stuffed pepper (couscous, chickpeas l/o pasta sauce, cheese & veg)
Sun - Chicken in BBQ sauce, l/o couscous
Mon - Macaroni cheese, beetroot salad
Tues - Baked potato with prawn salad
Wed - Spicy turkey meatballs, pitta and saladJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
