This week's plan (almost everything from freezer as running it down to defrost before holiday next month) plus stuff from stores:

    F - out for a birthday meal
    S - chana masala, rice
    S - roast chicken dinner
    M - Egg, chips, beans
    T - Spanish rice
W - meatballs in tomato sauce with spaghetti
T - Fakeaway KFC, chips, corn on the cob, beans (this may change depending on whether we decide to go away in our motorhome Thursday rather than Friday!)

  • All planned nice and early this week. Done a small sainsburys shop this afternoon and will go to the farm shop for chicken and eggs tomorrow.

Sat - out to eat 😋
    Sun - Greek chicken traybake
Mon - tuna pesto pasta, green beans
    Tues - beans on toast
Wed - chicken egg fried rice
Thurs - bacon, mushroom and Stilton gnocchi, green beans
Fri - scampi, chips and peas

I didn't do a meal plan last week and how I regretted it.  We didn't starve by any means but I felt very disorganised all week and definitely won't be making that mistake again!  This week's plan:

Sat (today) - Soup & sandwich, piece of Genoa cake for afters
Sun - Roast beef, mash, carrots & swede
    Mon - Gammon salad
Tue - Beef stir fry & noodles
Wed - Cod cake, chips, mushy peas
Thu - Chicken Kung Po, jacket potatoes
Fri - Some kind of fish meal

I have a head of celery to chop/freeze and need to make pastry tomorrow for a couple of small quiches to use up a container of gammon "bits".  The pastry trimmings will do for an assortment of jam/lemon curd tarts.  Or maybe mince pies.

Sorry I've been m. i a.. My meals have been very basic and eat what I fancy on the night. Plus I've had granddaughter here who has sensory issues and only likes certain foods
This week youngest daughter is here from uni, so our meals will be something from this selection

    We've already had Dahl
    Hoisin shredded tofu style pancakes
    Shwarwarma in pittas and koftas
Jacket potato with jackfruit 'tuna' and salad
    Cajun tofu and pasta
Hotdog and chips with corn on the cob
    Pesto and pasta
Could have been pizza, but I don't want to buy vegan mozzarella especially. So we will omit that for now

  • I’m ahead of myself due to a bank holiday Friday, also out for the day tomorrow so need to shop this afternoon (fairly small one again).

No more soup, I’m declaring spring 🙃

So, starting from Sunday as tea out tomorrow:

Sun - tuna steak with warm new potato, green bean and olive salad
Mon - creamy chicken and chorizo pasta, green beans
    Tues - beans on toast
Wed - sweet chilli prawn noodles, sugar snap peas
Thurs - halloumi, new potato and courgette hash
Fri - salmon with creamy leeks and cannellini beans

    Plan for the week:

Sun (today) - Roast lamb, greens, mash and Yorkshire puddings
Mon - Cold lamb cuts, chips & pickles
Tue - Salad - there's a h/m quiche in the freezer to use up
Wed - Fish pie, broad beans
Thu - Corned beef hash, greens
Fri - Probably cod fillets, tbc
Sat - Corned beef, potato & onion pots with crusty rolls

I'm with justkeepswimming on the soup front, although there are a couple of tubs in the freezer, should they be needed.  I've made a SC rice pudding that will do with fruit for afters during the week and have chopped a load of carrots that are now in a tub of cold water in the fridge.  Tomorrow I'll slice up the lamb joint - it's a large piece so there'll be plenty to go in the freezer.  There's also slices of beef and gammon in there so I'll not have to buy a joint again for quite some time.

The menu plan went to pot as I was out more than expected, so I still have the wherewithal for the main course and just need to buy a few veggies.

Fish curry, spinach, green beans, mange tout, fruit salad, kefir
Sardines, spinach, green beans, salsa verde, stewed plums, custard
Spanakopita, Greek style salad, pineapple, kefir

All those will do two days so I’ll add a chicken stir fry and raspberry clafoutis for when a friend comes to lunch.
